The women are defending champs in the ECAC indoor meet, but might have sacrificed some of their points by running the distance medley relay at Notre Dame last night. They finished 5th in 11:18.67, which is a good provisional mark for the NCAAs. The men DMR team ran too, but did not finish for some reason.
In early results at the IC4As Kenny Mitchell qualified for the semis in the 55m in a time of 6.48 and Terrell Gissendanner qualified in the 55H with a time of 7.64.
In the mile heats Dan Gerber in 4:11.89 and Alex Mason in 4:11.14 both qualified for the finals. Sandy Roberts also ran in 4:13.57.

Men and women come in with 3rd place finishes in a day of irony. First point - the men could have won, if they did not send the DMR and other athletes to Notre Dame - the DMR team at ND did not finish. My other alma mater, Cornell, won the men's with 50 points, Seton Hall was 2nd with 45, and the Hoyas were third with 42. The runners at ND could have gotten at least 8 points in they had run at IC4As. The other irony is that the women also sent a team to Notre Dame trying to qualify for the NCAAs on ND's oversized track. They came in 5th in that meet in 11:18.67. Their DMR team at the ECACs ran 11:12.93, which is probably good enough to get the Hoyas into the NCAAs. The DMR team won the ECAC meet.
Other results from today:
in 55m semis Kenny Mitchell finished 16th in 6.61 and did not move on to the finals.
Mile 5. Dan Gerber 4:11.87 (Mr. Consistency as he ran a 4:11.89 in the heats) 6. Alex Mason 4:11.90 (just got nipped by Dan)
1000m - Alex Bean qualified for the finals, but his name was not in the final finishers, so I assume he scratched for some reason.
5000m 3. Dan Nunn 14:11.35 (continuing his very nice comeback from XC and early season woes) 4. Justin Scheid 14:12.21
55H Semis 10. T. Gissendanner 7.62
4x800 1. Cornell 7:37.28 2. GU 7:37.73 (Hill, Roberts, Maloy, Harris)
DMR 2. GU 9:56.06 (Bumbi, Ward, Leyh, Hower) (team beat VMI, fastest in the heats, by 0.01s)
Women 1 Mile 2. Joanna Rodgers 4:51.77 (great running by Joanna)
400m 7. Nichole Torpey 55.69
500m 8. Alex Baptiste 1:14.43
800m 5. Renee Tomlin 2:11.34
TJ 5. Ashley Mondie 40'1.5"
The DMR team had Hillary Bontz, Ashley Hubbard, Nana Hanson-Hall, and Elizabeth Maloy (might have been the same runners from ND).
3000m 3. Melissa Grelli 9:33.97 6. Natasha LaBeaud 9:41.23 14. Lise Ogrodnick 9:53.07 20. Joanna Rodgers 10:08.41
Team scores: 1. UConn 61, 2. Pitt 52, 3. GU 48.
