Since the teams are going to run in Indiana at the NCAA champs on Monday, the B teams ran today in NYC. Results for the Hoyas are at guhoyas.cstv.com/sports/c-xc/recaps/111806aaa.htmlBrandon Bonsey ran and recorded the top finish for the men (he was 7th man at Regionals). Three freshman and Scott Bastek filled out the team. Sandy Roberts was close behind Brandon, but did not finish the race. Alex Bean and Owen Boyle also ran. It was interesting in seeing those who did not run. The Hoyas ran only five men, but since Sandy didn't finish, they were not eligible for team standings. Brian Dalpiaz and Mike Kirsch did not run. Maybe one or both will run on Monday, but neither of them made the regional team. The women finished 7th led by three freshman. Renee Tomlin and Lauren Gregory were the first two Hoyas. Kailin Collins and Nana Hanson-Hall were next with Amanda Walsh, another freshman, rounding out the team. No Ogrodnicks.

Sarah Lorch, another freshman, also ran for the Hoyas and finished in 20:13.7.

I suspect that Krisch is red shirting, I don't think he ran all year--surprised that they didn't R/S Nunn too. I guess the O' grodniks are injured and Roberts are too. Hopefully that's not a trend with Roberts-I know he was injured a lot in HS. I would have thought that he could have done a bit better as a frosh
The women FreshmanTomlin and Gregory have improved a bit since hs and I guess are doing ok considering that they are not really X/C runners

Krisch ran in the Great Meadow race, but that was the only one - if he was injured after that, he could get a medical redshirt perhaps. Roberts was in the race today, so I wondered if he got injured or sick during the race. Owen Boyle was up and down during the year.
Tomlin ran in the regionals, so her place will be taken by somebody else - hopefully, Jenny Funk, who was having a good year, but was not in the regionals. I think she and Bumbi will show up in Indiana on Monday.
