MLL is awesome. When I was living in Denver, the Mammoth came to town, and almost every game was sold out at the Pepsi Center (where the Nuggets play). It became one of the top social activities for the 20-something crowd (helped, I'm sure, by ticket packages that included a free beer at the stadium and another free beer at Old Chicago, a 10 minute walk away). Mammoth lacrosse games are up there in excitement with just about any other sporting event I've been to. I'm sure it would be way differrent at G'town for a variety of reasons, but it would certainly still be cool AND get more people interested in our program. I know I would make the trek for games.

Well there goes the last reason to support any Baltimore sports. The Bayhawks are my favorites even though they traded Brodie Merrill (and not surprisingly did not repeat as champions.) I much prefer them in DC, but I am not sure whether they would play in the MSF. It is definetly not Unitas, which btw, even though I hate Towson, is downright Beautiful. If they did come to play, the rent would go to the Athletic Department and not specifically to the MSF. Plus, we can only charge rent, they would get ticket money so we can't work with that.

Screw rent, let's just get the league to pony up the cash for the remaining construction costs.

The Mammoth play in the MILL (Major INDOOR Lacrosse League). The MLL is an outdoor professional league. 2 totally different sports. In fact the majority of MLL stars do not play in MILL. Brodie does, of course, as he is the best of the best. If I had a lacrosse hero, it would be #17!!!!!

I thought the Mammoth were in the NLL and the MILL was still in the idea stage...?

We're both right, well sort-of...............
From answers.com:
"The NLL was formed in 1997 from the Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL), with the decision to move from league ownership of all teams to individual team ownership. The MILL was created in 1986 as the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League. The first season started in January 1987 as the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League. It changed its name to Major Indoor Lacrosse League in May 1988, and then to the National Lacrosse League in 1998. Five of the MILL teams played in the NLL in the 1998 season. The National Lacrosse League recognizes the MILL history as its own. The 2006 season marked the 20th season of play in the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League/MILL/NLL."

It's official, the Washington Bayhawks will play five of six home games at the MSF this year. Their first game will be at George Mason, though, presumably because the date (May 12) could conflict with a home NCAA tournament game. www.washingtonbayhawks.com/tickets/stadium/I hope they know the picture they have of the MSF is an artist's rendering and not the real thing...

They'll be so disapointed when they see that there isn't some massive brick gateway there
