Rose Bowl Regatta: Celebrate with the 2006 National
Champion Hoya Sailing team!
The 2006 National Champion GU Sailing Team (GUST) will be sailing at the Rose Bowl Regatta held at the Alamitos Bay Yacht Club in Long Beach, CA. This is your chance to show support for our sailors, celebrate our national championship, and show your Hoya pride.
When: 10:30am Sunday Jan 7, 2007
Where: 7201 East Ocean BLVD in Long Beach.
Who will you see: Hoya sailors, coaches, student reporters from "The Hoya" (so be prepared to be famous!), friends and alums
What should I bring: Hoya spirit, beach chair, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (or bad weather stuff instead)!
Look for the Georgetown tent with our school banner
hosted by Deni Herron, the mother of Blaire Herron, a
member of our national championship team, featured
on the cover of this month's Hoya Saxa magazine and a local Southern Californian! Early arrivals will be
regaled with Georgetown T-shirts and opportunities to
buy authentic GU National Champion Sailing gear! We
will have limited quantities of water. Food available at the Yacht Club.
Directions:
THE SOUTHERN ROUTE
From the 405 Freeway North or the 605 Freeway South,
exit to the Long Beach 7th Street junction and then
the Studebaker exit and proceed south to Westminster Avenue. At Westminster Avenue turn right and proceed to Bay Shore Drive. Turn left and keep to the left when the street forks, taking you to Ocean Boulevard. Turn left onto Ocean Boulevard and follow Ocean Blvd. to 7201 East Ocean Blvd. and the Alamitos Bay Yacht Club.
THE NORTHERN ROUTE
From the 405 Freeway South, 710 Freeway South or 110 Freeway South take the 710 Freeway South which will
eventually become Shoreline Drive. Follow Shoreline
Drive to Ocean Boulevard and turn right , then follow
Ocean (while staying to the right) to 7201 E. Ocean and the Alamitos Bay Yacht Club.
