guhoyas.cstv.com/sports/m-soccer/sched/gu-m-soccer-sched.htmlI've had a tentative schedule since April but they've now updated the schedule on GuHoyas so i provided a link to that one since it has a few changes. The Scrimmages early against UMD and UVA will help them greatly to prepare for the season. Excluding the scrimmages with #1 Maryland and #6 UVA. Georgetown will play 4 ranked teams: #4 UConn, #10 Creighton, #16 ND, and #17 St. John's. Now one of the most important events in the soccer season is the DC College Cup which this year will take place at AU it alternates btw. there at Georgetown every year. This is a big tournament for the Hoyas as there actually is a big local rivalry btw these teams in soccer and the Hoyas are the defending champions. It would be really great if we could get people over to AU for that tournament. Unfortunately it's before classes actually start and i don't think most people move in till that weekend. But any locals should go down to AU if they can to see those games. During the regular season we've got 8 great home match ups to look forward including Syracuse, Uconn, St. john's the last two being perennial soccer powers. So lets get as many people out to the games as possible this year. Perhaps we can even get so non student fans out there. alot of the home games are on weekends. Warm up for basketball season by cheering for the soccer team.( they're a lot more likely to win than the football team)

Maybe I can make the Towson scrimmage. Other than that, it looks doubtful. Has UMBC ever been on the schedule? That would be a game I could make even on a weekday probably.

They tend to play them durign the spring schedule i beleive they played them twice this past spring season. So they don't play them in any games that count.

I'll be at AU for the DC College Cup barring any NSO activities going on, but since I'm only going to see my MSB advisees for about three hours over the course of orientation, I'm down for Metro tripping to AU. Most of HB should be back early anyway, correct?

Most of HB should be back early anyway, correct? Unfortunately, looking at the game times (Friday and Sunday mid afternoon), I think those are actually the two times that we are going to have to do stuff for the MSB advisor position. I'm not sure if they sent out an email about it yet, but last year the training was on Friday in the middle of the afternoon, and the actual meeting with the advisees was shortly after the post-convocation lunch, sometime around 1 oclock on Sunday. I'd think it'd be around the same time this year, but maybe they'll rearrange. The first real home game, Friday against 'Cuse, at the end of the first week of classes, should be a fun one for all of us to go to.

Yeah, I just checked again and you're right. I just remember only seeing my advisor for about 2-3 hours over the course of orientation last year. Cuse should be a good game to get prospective hooligans to.

I'm not sure if they sent out an email about it yet, but last year the training was on Friday in the middle of the afternoon Wait wait wait... training? They train advisors??? Geez, I think when I was an SFS advisor guy, the "training" consisted of me getting a list of the kids and a note saying when/where to show up. And I almost didn't make that. Shoot, I just sat through three weeks of the WG orientations, and judging by that, the "training" those advisor folks got was how to dress in too short cargo shorts and bright neon colored Eurotrash shoes. Full marks though for the ridiculous Redick-u-lous-ly awful pun on last year's MSB advisor shirts...of all the businesses out there, you went with Sound Advice huh. If somebody comes up with one for those Nobody Beats The Wiz guys this year, I'll switch my GU alumni donation money.

What's especially bad is that without including parentheses or brackets, all that the shirt says is, "SFS > MSB" with a couple of other schools also mentioned.
So yes, the "bad at math" part holds.
