Five Hoyas are going to the nationals in Sacramento this week for the NCAA Track and Field Championship meet. Elizabeth Maloy qualified at the regionals in the 1500m, and Rod Koborsi qualified on time in the 10000m, while Buky Bamigboye qualified in the heptathlon with her Big East mark. Added additionally were Nana Hanson-Hall in the 800m and Andrew Bumbalough in the 5000m. Apparently, Rod, who finished one place ahead of Bumbi in the 5000m at the Regional opted to run the 10000, thus moving Bumbi up one place.

Buky end the first day of the pentathlon in 20th place. Her good events were the 100H and 200m, where she placed 13th and 10th, respectively. The high jump and shotput were not her best events, as she placed 21st and 25th, respectively in those events. She has two fairly good events tomorrow - the long jump and the 800m, with the javelin thrown in.

Buky finished 15th in the pentathlon with 5245 points. If she scored about the same as with winning the BE meet, she would have been in the top 10. She finished 4th in the 800m, the last event.
