According to published reports Scott Kosic and Craig Dowd (both former Duke commits) are Hoya-bound as well. No release yet, but if true it means we'd have the second most kids on this list to Hopkins' 7.
The GTown prep kid is supposedly pretty good - hopefully he's as good as Danny Gladding.
edit: Hey! That was my 1000th post! And on a topic where like 3 people will actually check it and see how awesome it was. I'm going to go crack a bottle of wine and quietly reflect on the past 1000 posts. Oh, what a long, strange, productivity killing trip its been...

Here's a recent article from the HeraldSun confirming Kosic to Georgetown www.herald-sun.com/durham/4-737896.htmlNot sure if Dowd is for sure coming. His brother is a senior at Duke so maybe he waiting to see what happens to the program.

I hope this goalie they are bringing in is legit. Gtown needs to find a way to recruit the elite high school goalies.

For those of you that know how recruiting goes, or have been recruited, I would imagine that if I were a good high school athlete (goalie in this instance) and a team that showed empirical need in that area started showing interest/offered I would go with them because it would mean that I would get to play more and/or have more impact. Am I wrong in this thinking? Or are athletes thinking that since a team is weak in that spot they must not do a good job coaching the goalies?

I hope this goalie they are bringing in is legit. Gtown needs to find a way to recruit the elite high school goalies. Well, Miles Kass was Inside Lacrosse's number 2 recruit at ANY position. He could have gone anywhere in the nation and came to GU. Unfortunately, he hasn't played up to his reputation thus far. Anyway, I can't prove this, but SOOO much of being a great goalie is about your defense and luck. Kass let up 15+ goals to UVa, but how many of those were stoppable? If the other guys are bouncing it into the corners and sticking it in the top left from 10 feet out, there's nothing the goalie can do. Obviously the chance for early playing time is a draw in every sport. Only one goalie can play at a time, so the chance for an open competition draws kids.

I hope this goalie they are bringing in is legit. Gtown needs to find a way to recruit the elite high school goalies. I play on the his rival hs team and he is legit. He is the only player on their team that is good and after playing them in four 1-goal games over two years it doesnt take much to realize this. In one game he game out hot, saving 23 first half shots giving his team and 8-2 lead only to watch his defense break down and lose the game 10-9...I couldn't tell you how good he would be on the college level, but he's a darn good hs goalie.

That's awesome to hear. I heard NCAA allows for 3 assistant coaches in lacrosse (2 paid, one volunteer), so usually one for offense, one for defense, and then the volunteer is either goalies or face offs. Anyone know if that is accurate? And whether the Hoyas usually have a goalie coach?

It's most likely a faceoff coach.
EDIT: Scratch that.
The volunteer is Brice Queener, who graduated last year. I assume that means we've got more offensive help then (and boy do we need it...).
I don't think Urick ever bothered with a faceoffs guy since Corno was so absurdly good already and as dicey as the goalkeeping has been (and Trunz wasn't too shabby either for a first year guy), we've always had a defense that keeps us in 90% of games no matter what so those areas really weren't as needy.
