Time to stop doubting D'Andrea. He made 7 fourth quarter saves, some of them spectacular, to preserve the lead. GU led start to finish, but pretty much stalled for most of the second half. Hoyas dominated the first half completely.
All told 15 saves for Rich. He's VERY sharp at the moment. Even if Kass is 100%, it's hard not to just ride the red hot goalie.
This was a big win for Georgetown. Loyola lost today, so GU can clinch the ECAC by winning out - they're currently tied in the loss column with PSU.

Alright, I'll admit it, Rich played superbly today. Not sure if I should keep watching or keep complaining so I don't jinx the hot streak. As someone pointed out during the game, the last one he let in was quite a softy though.

D'Andrea missed maybe 2 that he probably should have saved, but the key was that he was sharp at crunch time. Not all UMASS shots were terribly challenging, but, suffice to say, he made some game-changing saves along the way. At times, he was not helped by the defense, and the attackers did not maintain possession sufficiently to take pressure off the defense.

Sounds like JimmyHoya wants to come around on Rich, but he feels like he has to keep making stabs. A somewhat cloaked compliment. It is no secret that I am a Rich fan, and yes, I agree that he gave up 2 soft goals. But, in an intense conference game late in the season, please name any goalie who makes every save. They all let in some softies. The key, as Jersey says, was that he came up HUGE when it counted.
Fun game to watch. A little nerve-wracking, but always fun to win.
