Huh, interesting. There have been a ton of resignations lately from Georgetown sports, and this is just the latest. I wonder what the reason for this one was. Based on the other resignations (women's volleyball, tennis, football), I would say Coach Tabatznik was the most successful. He was here for 22 years, so maybe he just thought it was his time to go.
Thanks, Coach, great times watching the soccer team in action earlier this school year.

THE ASSISTANT SOCCER COACH LEFT EARLIER IN THE MONTH FOR A JOB AT STANFORD. THE HEAD COACHES RESIGNATION HAD A BIT OF A SAD TONE TO IT. SOUNDS LIKE HE IS NOT SURE HE REALLY WANTS TO GO

as having a little insight from my closeness with the team I feel that it was probably time for coach tabznik to go. He was a nice guy and i liked him as a person but i feel some of his coaching strategies just were no longer working. I think his case is very similar to Benson's. Has done a lot for the program but was no longer cutting it at this higher level of competition. Lord knows the skill is there. But they've been unable to make the next step for years. They're always just short of making the NCAA's. I trst that Muir will bring in a coach that can take us to the next level. I'm more sadend by the departure of coach pascale. He was a great guy and took another job mainly for family and personal reasons.

Stanford and Palo Alto is an awesome place to work and Coach Simon, Stanford Head coach is a great guy. Sunshine most days in Palo Alto. Good for Coach Pascale.
I wonder in Vanderbilt coach will be interviewing for GU job since his program was just cut by the school. Also, Bobby Clark at ND might have some great recommendations for Bernard. Clark is well known in coaching and has a strong Ivy connection.

THis is a HOT topic on all the soccer message boards. Many are quite surprised and they also feel this will be a highly sought after coaching job. Exciting for GU soccer!

Very surprising if, in fact, this wasn't an entirely voluntary decision. Unlike football, this wasn't a program playing and failing at a higher level of competition recently, but had been a program that reached national prominence with some of the smallest resources in the conference. The very fact that the program was consistently challenging for NCAA spots, given the scholarship situation was a sign of success.
