Worst showing by GU in NACDA Cup standings in the history of the competition! Maybe Muir can start to turn things around. The hoops program (hopefully, men's and women's!)will begin to hold up its end soon......
PS: DFW, who were the 7 Div I-AA schools ahead of GU??

PS: DFW, who were the 7 Div I-AA schools ahead of GU?? There were seven schools below I-A ahead of Georgetown, but only four are in I-AA: Princeton, Harvard, Dartmouth, and Cornell. Also finishing ahead of #74: Pepperdine, Denver, and American

If Denver finishing ahead of GU in NACDA Cup standings doesn't wake people up in McD and 2nd Healy, maybe finishing behind AU will!!

Denver must have gotten all their points in skiing!? If skiing is an NCAA approved sport.

What is the consensus goal 5, 10 years out? What is reasonable without a I-A Fball team, top 30, top 20? What are the goals?

Actually, lack of 1-A football doesn't have a direct effect (as they award the same number of points for the 1-AA football championship as they do for 1-A), though it's generally a good indicator of the amount of resources that an institution puts into athletics.
I don't think that Top 30 is an unreasonable goal, though it would indicate a lot of progress. We would need about 5-6 more sports to reach national tournaments, and the sports that have made the championships in the recent past to move up a little in competition.
In looking at how that would work, here's one set of possibilities. +50 Men's Hoops -- should be in this year (get 25 points for making the tournament, 50 for making it to the second round) + 25 Women's Hoops -- Coach Flournoy seems to be turning around the attitude on this team, and just signed her first McD All-American +30 Men's or Women's Golf -- Georgetown's student body has a big demographic overlap with golf, and the team plays out at TPC at Avenel, shouldn't be to hard to get one of these teams to the NCAAs (men made it last year) + 75 M/W Cross Country, M/W Indoor Track, M/W Outdoor Track -- this shouldn't be much of a stretch, though the lack of facilities hurts. + 25 Mens or Women's Soccer -- both teams have shown flashes over the last few years, and if one or both can make the jump and make the tournament, that's decent points right there. + 30 Mens or Women's Lax -- one of these years, one of these teams is going to break through and win. With the recruiting classes that both coaches are bringing in, it could be soon.
Those improvements translate to a 235 point increase, which would be 38th this year. Moving up after that would take some more work, but getting the men's hoops team (and hopefully the women's) is a good start.
