Ugly game for Georgetown so far... less than 5 mins left in the 1st half hoyas down 22-10 on 0-6 from 3s, but a fine 5-7 on 2s, and 8 turnovers , 5 of which have come from brandon who only turned it over once in our 2 previous BE games. Not as bad as the UConn game but we need to catch up.

Too many turnovers (although a couple of Brandon's are the steal it with foot on end line variety), too many offensive rebounds given up.
C'mon guys...

Yahoo has it as 24-12 at half, but their scorecard has it 26-18. Seems like the Hoyas's D is ok, but they are 0 for the half for 3's (10) with everybody coming down with the present variation of the shooting bug. Scored 37 points in the last two 1st halves. Going home now; hope to join the chatroom for the victory celebration (I hope, I hope). Hey, poster formerly known as Prince, didn't you change your board name?

Rich would never make it outside local radio:
"We're gonna strap one on in the final two-twenty."
As if the hookers in the lane weren't enough.

great 2nd half for the hoyas. 44 points!!!!!
i think we shot 14-24 in the 2nd half (7-20 in the first), 5-11 from 3. great job making adjustments after the half. all 5 starters in double figures.

A pretty ugly game for us considering our 3s and our turnovers but we saw great improvement in our rebounding which was the key to our big comeback in the 2nd half. All hail DO and hopefully Hibbs will eventually score in one of these BE games, we're all rooting for you. That got intense at the end but the hoyas really pulled it together and gained control of the game. Next victim: Villanova, this time even fluke shooting won't help them

I hate to see this because I'm tired of the Esh bashing, but what happened to Rutgers tonight is the same thing that happened to us too many times over the past few years. You're winning the whole game only to blow it in the final 5 minutes. It's almost like you just sat around waiting for the RUN (for those who were in the chat room) to start from the other team. This is no longer the case, as we are the team going on the RUNS now.

"I hate to see this because I'm tired of the Esh bashing, "
I don't really think it is Esh bashing when you point out the obvious. This team with 3 freshman starting are executing much better late in the game than last years team. As these young Hoyas mature into this system times can only get better. This was a game they were supposed to win and they did. Momey!

We outrebounded Rutgers 26-9 in the second half. In doing so, we created opportunities for second chance points, and limited their offense to a one-and-done variety.
Bowman was like a man possessed on the offensive glass especially, and Owens and Green both came up with huge boards in traffic on the other end of the court. Even Ashanti and Wallace were active blocking out and crashing the glass. It was definitely a team effort.
I suppose this shows that it is not necessarily the system that prevents offensive rebounding. We just need guys to hustle and scrap for the ball.

It also helps to have a really bad rebounding opponent!

good point, rutgers didnt exactly have much height. they went with a lot of 3 and even 4 guard sets. Someone must have noticed our height advantage and mentioned at half time because we came out in the second half on a mission to rebound.
