www.cnn.com/2007/US/02/06/astronaut.arrested/index.htmlThis news story made my morning. This woman wore her astronaut diapers while driving from Houston to Orlando to settle a score.... makes you wonder what regularly goes on in that space station during missions. I give mad props to the mission commander who had these two chicks fighting over him. Sure, he's already married with children, but he is probably one of the few men out there to experience "space sex." I won't go over the logistical problems of weightlessness, but suffice it to say I'm impressed.

So:
But:
Maybe the fact that she is a complete nut job just might hamper her work a bit, though?

My favorite part of this story is NASA's polite "no comment" about her future with the space program...

I just read online that the guy this woman was fighting over did not fly a mission with the two women but instead trained with them. Due to this new information, I rescind my giving of props to this man. However, the fact that this woman wore a space diaper while driving from Houston to Orlando is still absolutely hilarious.

Saw a report on TV this morning on this story...favorite nugget of information from the newscaster: this is the first NASA astronaut to be charged with a felony....
Yeah? that's good to know...no ex-cons in the space program...glad we could confirm that...

Yet another reason to dump NASA as we know it...

Maybe this is a good new use for the space program. Kind of similar to the way England used the United States and then Australia.

I'm already tired of this story but I suspect the media will harp on it forever. It beats them having to cover what's really important.

I completely agree with you ed on the ridiculous level of media coverage (even though I found myself engrossed in this story at the beginning). Ironically, the Executive branch probably welcomes this distraction from coverage of our continued failures in Iraq. It seems like a new version of "Blackhawk Down" could be drafted every other day. It is so sad that as our troops are forced to die for this failed policy (with more on the way), the American public and media seems more focused on this and the Duke lacrosse case.

Please, dear Hoyas, NO!!! None of the astronauts slated to attend the game on Monday were part of Ms. Nowak's crew. Let's have some class & greet these people with respect.

The only relevant heckling would be if one of the NASA astronauts was from or had attended West Virginia and....er...wait...I'm sorry, did I just write that? That would be impossible.
Seriously, heckling these -- or any -- astronauts would be atrocious conduct on the part of Hoya students and fans.
On the other hand, making witty references on poster board to rocket scientists, NASA, generally intelligent people and the stark contrast that may highlight between Georgetown and West Virginia seems to me entirely appropriate.
