McCain slightly ahead of Giuliani on GOP side with McCain/Hillary a dead heat.
If only Lurch had stayed in. as a candidate, he was electric.

Giuliani - c'mon. Seriously? There's no way the rank-and-file in the Republican party votes for this guy. Its been discussed to death in the Giuliani thread. Experience will always be an issue for him as well. What's Rudy lacking in experience? He has at least as much as "experience" as the other three, certainly more experience as an executive. Not saying I'm voting for the guy; I'm just curious.

If these are the top four candidates, something a man much smarter than myself once wrote rings even truer today: "This is like being told you have a duty to buy a new car, but you have to choose immediately between a Ford and a Chevy."
McCain - went from the Straight Talk Express to the Do Anything For Votes Local. I've seen the guy cave on too many tough stances he used to take to think he'd be an effective President. Would have voted for him in '00 had he not let Bush walk all over him. That was embarrassing.

Hillary - I will say this for Mrs. Clinton: if she runs, we will see the highest voter turnout in DECADES. I guess that's a good thing. Other than that, she seems to do whatever is politically expedient at that exact moment. Doesn't seem to have a core set of values.
Obama - nobody knows anything about him. Charismatic as hell, but where does he stand on anything?!? I'm too lazy to analyze his voting record... perhaps someone could help out there.
How come I never hear any talk about Joe Biden or Mitt Romney? Not saying they are any better, but I'd like to "get to know them" a bit more as those four names above make me want to weep in my beer.

I should have made myself clearer, kc. I personally agree... I don't think the guy lacks any of the requisite experience needed to be President. More important to me are traits like "character" and "will" and "accountability." What I meant was how Rudy would be portrayed on the campaign trail... you know how its going to play out. People are going to say "he's only a mayor, he has no foreign policy experience, what are his views on X on a nation-wide scale" and so on. Hell, I'm sure McCain is going to spend hours (if they run against each other) deploring the plight of Rudy's NY pre-9/11, his lack of experience with this nation or that organization... and he'll look foolish as hell for doing so. Its ridiculous, but that's the way the game is played.

Joe Biden has had a hard time articulating a message because Nile Kinnock stopped writing... Hahahahaha!!! (Although I assume you meant Neil?) Hasn't he also lifted from Bobby Kennedy? As an English and Theology major, I'm not sure I could abide a plagarist in the White House!!! Still... I'd like to see what else the parties have to offer us. Biden and Romney just being two examples that sprung to mind.

I did mean Neil, damn lack of spell check.
I don't know that a plagiarist would be tha t big a jump since we already had someone whose signature book was ghost-written, at least in part, by GU's own Jules Davids (RIP).

Addendum:
There are two Americas. Neither one voted for Edwards in 2004. (Source: Leno)
Sorry, NYCHoya, if you're reading. I couldn't resist that one.

I would take this poll with a grain of salt. At this point in 2003, Joe Lieberman was the frontrunner for the Dem nomination and no one had ever heard of Howard Dean. Lord, how things changed.
