Among other things, his Al-Resalah station says that "infidels" (that's us) commit adultery routinely. See www.nysun.com/article/34836 for the full story. This is the same individual who gave Georgetown $20 million for a Muslim studies center to "promote Muslim-Christian understanding." I call it a Trojan horse, and I think GU alumni should start asking exactly what is inside.

I think them for their adroit analysis of our marital infidelities. They forgot to mention however that all of these marriages are falling apart because of gay people.

If he [the infidel] feels like having any type of sexual relations, he does ...
Oh, my misguided friend. You don't understand us at all.
If only it were that easy. . . If only it were that easy. . .

Funny, that comment doesn't sound much different than the way that Revs. Falwell and Robertson generally talk about "infidels" in the U.S., particularly homosexuals and other groups that are mentioned in the rest of the quote that husaria managed to drop.

Bill--thanks for coming back to HoyaTalk. We get it already. Blah blah blah Muslims blah blah blah blah blah; Prince Alwaleed blah blah blah blah Georgetown blah blah blah Trojan horse. And we don't care. Frankly, I learn more from listening to the teacher on the Peanuts.
By the way, as it has been stated in the past, the Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding was founded in 1993 and had already established its work in improving relations between the Muslim world and the West and enhancing understanding of Muslims in the West prior to the $20 million gift. The gift is intended to provide for the following:
The gift will endow three faculty chairs, expand programmatic and academic outreach activities, provide new scholarship support for students, broaden opportunities for research and policy discussions and expand library facilities.
And once again, Prince Alwaleed has no control over the donation.

Good point, saxacalhoya, but you might as well give it up. People are going to read into this what they want, regardless of a little thing we like to call "facts."

Falwell or Robertson are somewhat too far to the right for my tastes but they aren't donating money to fund centers for "understanding" while promoting hatred against the very people whom they claim to want to "understand." As for dropping the rest of the quote, I recall that your moderator does not want people to quote excerpts from Web pages. I'm not sure why (as long as no one quotes enough to violate someone's copyright) but that's what he said. The bottom line is that bin-Talal must want something for his $20 million and given his country's and his own track records-- the latter includes raising money for the families of suicide bombers-- someone ought to take a cold and hard look at this. Remember that Rudy Guliani did not want a cent of this individual's money for New York City even though $10 million would have certainly been useful.

No, they don't fund centers at other universities; they start their own universities...

No, they don't fund centers at other universities; they start their own universities... Then perhaps this is what Mr. bin Talal should have done with his $40 million ($20 million for GU, $20 million for Harvard) given what he thinks of non-Muslims as shown here: www.yaledailynews.com/article.asp?AID=31286I have no problems whatsoever with promoting Muslim-Christian understanding, by the way. Muslim-Americans, who practice Islam but subscribe to American values about individual freedom and respect for other people's religions, are in fact better educated than the average American and their incomes are higher. My problem is with an individual who pretends to want to promote Muslim-Christian understanding while his ART TV station advocates terroristic violence not only against Israel but against the West in general (i.e. you and me).
