I don't have a real message, but I'm bored at work. I think we can all agree that monkeys are funny.
Oh wait I did want to complain about something on the hoyatalkboard. I noticed that the clutter police locked a thread by "roysgirlfriend" and kept a similar thread open. Why do this? 98% of the posters here are male and the the clutter police have to lock the one post by someone who might be female. Now I was never for women's suffrage, or letting them drive a car, but I think its OK to let them have a thread on the board.

A couple of thoughts:
First off - Monkeys are hilarious - see the 1970's TV sitcom Lancelot Links Chimp Detective for further evidence of this point.
Secondly - In the words of Borat - "In Kazakhstan we have saying to let woman vote is like to let woman drive plane - you know - CRASH"

I think this sums it up the best:
Then there's something else that [men] want even more than a heist, even more than sex - every guy here would love to have a monkey. A pet monkey. And people get mad. Sometimes you say, "Oh, I'd love to have a monkey," and there's always that one anti-monkey person in the area. They overhear you, "Excuse me, I heard you saying you'd like to have a monkey, and that's a horrible idea. You do not want a monkey, you do not want a monkey." They're a monkey expert, and they start listing off all the reasons why you can't have a monkey. "Let me tell you a few things, if I could just have a minute, let me explain to you a few things about monkeys, that maybe you don't know before you jump to your conclusion. It's more than just bananas and dancing with toothbrushes, OK? First of all, they crap in their own hand, and throw it around in a festive manner, like they're at a celebration of monkey poop. They make faces that are unaccpetable in society." I hear these things, and I'm like, that's why I want to have a monkey, all those reasons. I don't want a nice little quiet monkey, I want an evil monkey that I can dress in armor, give him a sword, have fights with him inside my place. How pumped would you be driving home from work knowing some place in your house there's a monkey you're gonna battle? That's awesome!
-Dane Cook
And yes, I just listened to the CD and transcribed it as I listened. Man, God bless having time to kill during winter break.

I was begining to think Lancelot Link was a figment of my imagination. I thought I was the only person left on earth who remembered this ground breaking work of simian television.

Ricky Gervais has been hosting a weekly podcast on Guardian.co.uk over the past few months with two of his pals, in which there is always a segment called "Monkey News" near the end. Hosted by Karl "I could eat a know a night" Pilkington, it is usually a hilarious story about chimps or monkeys taken (liberally) from a recent news story. Here is a website that is animating some of the more prominent monkey newses. www.stinkywinkles.com/Enjoy!
