GU did get 2 Marshall Scholars this year, right Jack? See www.georgetown.edu for more info..... Can't win Rhodes every year but it would be nice to have 4(!?!?) like the Midshipmen did!

I'm officially starting my campaign for Jon Wallace for Rhodes Scholar in 08-09. It struck me during the telecast of the Navy game that it would be unbelievably spectacular acheivement for him and the program. Not only is he, as far as I understand, qualified academically, but the Rhodes Scholarship/Oxford loves balanced and athletic candidates as well -- it's in the charter at least. And remember one of our most famous Rhodes Scholars was also from the rural south.
Anyways, beyond how much Jon would benefit, how awesome would it be if during his senior season, the broadcasters made a huge deal about our Rhodes Scholar. Can someone get in his ear and suggest it? Who do we have to influence to make this happen? Who is on the local committee?

there is a professor who coordinates our rhodes applications, i had him for a class, great class, one of the best i had at GU, but i cant for the life of me remember his name. he doesnt have to do much recruiting for applicants but he takes the people who have a chance and walks them through the process.
