Given that every time the national news talks about the vulnerability of our transit system there is invariably one picture of the DC Metro what do you think the district should be doing to make sure that it is secure? Or should they be doing anything at all?

A colleague from work is coming to DC for a meeting today, and she said she wouldn't take the Metro. Meanwhile, on the McLaughlin report last night they were saying the London underground was probably the safest place to be (i.e., I guess if you were not a Brazilian electrician).
