www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/07/13/santorum_resolute_on_boston_rebuke/In the latest installment, my favorite junior senator from PA, stands by his claim that Boston's ''liberalism" is the root behind the Roman Catholic Church pedophile scandal, saying that the city's ''sexual license" and ''sexual freedom" nurtured an environment where sexual abuse would occur. Excuse me? And the Republicans honestly consider him a viable candidate? Where are you thebin? Remember our conversation about me slagging off Red Staters -- well, I never accused them of being the cause for child abuse and pedaphilia. Please explain to me how this guy gets any cred in the party?

Santorum is a nut. Plain and simple. I'd love to see a picture of the America dopes like him envision.
Best line from the retort:
"Poor Orrin Hatch, John McCain, and Chuck Hagel, all thoughtful Republican senators who are tainted by Santorum's mere presence."

I will take issue with one comment you made... Santorum is not a viable candidate for Republicans. He is going to have issues with his own Senate race.

He's ten points down to Bob Casey at the moment. Ricky would be darn lucky to get through his senate race. He's basically a moron, and I you'll get that judgement from a lot of people working on the majority side too.

Wasn't the original comment made 3-4 years ago? Is there any real purpose to bringing this up now?

he recently was asked about the same comment and affirmed it - people are bringing it up b/c the mass gobernator is a WH candidate.

That just disgusting. Santorum is a veritable repository of socially backwords sound-bytes. As a Roman Catholic it is very offensive to hear someone say those things because they assume that all Roman Cahtolics are influenced by some sort of "sexual license" and somehow have become a group of child molesters who also gets together on Sundays. Nice work Rick, go to hell.

MA Gov. Mitt Romney (R) said "I am going to suggest" Santorum's "wrong" but "hopefully upon further examination, he will realize it's not a Boston issue" (Boston Globe).
