Three articles that struck me as more pertinent than the ravings of some Brit: 1) www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A52673-2004Oct21?language=printerSo it's Kerry that doesn't get the war on terror, right? Bush pulls resources from Afghanistan to invade Iraq - probably the single thing that Bin Laden most wanted us to do. And meanwhile, he obsesses over the "leadership" of al Qaeda. 2) www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_10_24.php#003777We were so concerned about WMDs in Iraq that we failed to secure depots and 400 tons of high explosives went missing. The same stuff that's now killing our troops. Awesome. This in the wake of our failures to secure former nuclear facilities which the IEA has reported were looted and nuclear techs probably sold off to all sorts of nice people. 3) www.nytimes.com/reuters/politics/politics-iraq-interrogation.html?hp&ex=1098676800&en=424e26c04211a899&ei=5094&partner=homepageYet more news about the contempt for international law and the humane treatment of prisoners. Seymour Hersh wrote the first chapter in how we betrayed our principles to systematically torture people in Al Ghirab and Guantanomo. Someday, when this all is reported, it's going to be so much worse. It already makes me want to wretch. This is what Bush is about, folks. How, on god's green earth, could Kerry be worse?

The most important article might be one on Bush's recent "up in the air" gaffe. Headed into the final stretch of the campaign and with Clinton coming out of the woodwork for some big rallies that will generate press, the last thing Bush would want to do is to veer off message like this or do the same exact thing that he criticizes Kerry for allegedly doing, which is the proverbial flip-flop.
