Does anyone have an update on the installation of the new restaurant in Darnall? I walked by there the other day and saw that zero progress had been made. Leave it to our administrators (in conjunction with GUSA of course) to close down one of the only 2 cafeterias before having an alternative in place. I'm sure parents of the freshman living in Darnall will be thrilled to find out that their sons/daughters will have to walk across campus for every one of the meals purchased on the required meal plan. I'm sure it will also be the third semester and counting of long lines with both food and plate shortages by about 1pm. Congratulations Georgetown and GUSA for "fixing" the meal situation.

Hey, don't blame GUSA for the lack of a restaurant in Darnell! They had other, more important things to do---like make a movie!

As much as everyone likes to blame GUSA for things...I really think this fault is with the University. Obviously they had offers on the table....they are the ones with the final "yes or no" vote.
I'm sad to hear this though, I was hoping there would be some change when I got back there next week.

Just wanted to bump this up and again ask for updates from students on this. It is truly pathetic that a vendor has now been announced and still there has been no activity in that space. What type of "negotiating" is going on between the university and the vendor? International treaties have come to fruition faster than this.

Let's see: This semester it was used as the place you go to get your flu shot. That's about it.
When I went there, however, I noticed a tad bit of construction.

Wendy's? If the school puts junk food in there, talk about a complete waste of space. There should be a legitimate DINING option for students (and the community) there.

I remember ordering from the Merry-rot controlled "pizza" place in Darnall as a frosh.
So pizza-like. Mmmmm.
I salute you, Pizza Pete's!
or as one fellow First Darnallian wrote on his check..."Pete's Ah Petes."

Honestly, GU should just hire away the Wisey's cooks and open one up at Darnall. Even the Townies would come.

How about a soda fountain like the real "Max"?
And whether or not this is their fault, it is not debatable that GUSA has always been and always will be terrible. It should be liquidated.

If there was a wendy's on campus I would never waste any time at leo's. Hell, I go all the way to Rosslyn for a good wendy's time out

In all seriousness, wouldn't this be the sort of thing that the CORP would normally step up to handle?

I think the Corp put in a bid for it and it was rejected in favor of something else
