I wonder if there has been any thought to going back and giving roman numerals to every Jack that has been on campus like Georgia does with UGA and Texas does with Bevo?
Would that make the current one Jack III or a higher number?

Would that make the current one Jack III or a higher number? I believe he'd be Jack IV. There were two in succession when the tradition first started in 1962. Then the 1999 group brought the tradition back; this Jack is the second since '99. There were live bulldogs brought to games during the time between (i.e., the 70s, 80s, & 90s), but they were not, it seems, full-time mascots (rather they were pets owned by someone else and just brought to games).

SOMEONE GET ON THIS!!!
We need CBS/ESPN/et. al. to recognize Jack as "Jack IV" or whichever number he may be from now on. Muir needs to hear this...

Its JacK IV because we had Stubby for a long time and then he was replaced by another stubby and then in the 80's the dogs were named Rocky for some reason ...
