There inferiority complex shows by the fact that they are even having that discussion. I mean c'mon no one on this board is going to post "Georgetown or Maryland?" Since Georgetown is the hands down favorite for the average student and in my opinion the new favorite for the local ballers as well.
There logic is just funny- "I mean they dont have a engineering major and it depends what you want to do academicly"...No that doesnt matter, we are better period. They should just go try and continue there pathetic one way rivalry with Duke...what twerps.

I love their board - its absolutely hilarious. Here's a summary of my favorite tidbits of Terp "knowledge" which I'm sure reflects the astronomical SAT and GPA scores that they all have:
My Commentary:
Dad (reading board): Do these white people at Maryland thing we can't read or use a computer.
Mom: I'm so glad Austin isn't going to school with those sexists and racists.
Hmmm ... I guess that's true - if you overlook our School of Foreign Service which is the best in the world, our med school which is in the Top 25 nationally, our Masters programs in Government and Foreign Service which are ranked in the Top 10 in the WORLD, and our business school which is ranked in the Top 25 in the US. Yup, its clear we only have a good law school ... Btw, why is the kid in their scenarios alternatively an Engineering Major/Major College Baksetball Starter or someone who is playing Basketball to get in the NBA but really cares about his grad school options.
Excellent point. Your counting other minorities as though they were objects has clearly swayed me into believing your committment to diversity. Apparently the UMD committment to diversity is teaching students that the only way to be diverse is to count the number of minorities around you and then make derogatory comments about white people. That's pluralism in action- good work UMCP.

I don't enjoy pointing this out but...our med school is not even close to top 25. Its actually by any account one of the worst med schools in the US by rankings.

I did not know that and stand corrected. Although I do stand by the rest of the statement - which I still think makes Georgetown ON BALANCE better than UMCP.

yeah the med school gets a bad rap but it's really not as bad as people make it out to be. It's dropped considerably mostly because the hospital and everyhting associated with it basically went bankrupt.

I am quite happy to stand corrected...well kinda/sorta. 46 really isn't close to top 25...but its higher than I thought and will gladly recant. Was there not a year in the last few where GU Med failed to be ranked at all? I just remember it falling off the radar one year entirely.
