Whoever is running thehoya website this year is not doing a very good job. Links are broken and its not being updated on time like it used to be.

didn't someone post earlier this week that they even let their domain name registration lapse at one point already this year?

You're right - the issue that coincided with the domain name lapse two weekends ago did not make it to the web in a timely manner, but it is to be expected. After all, the domain name registrar essentially put a block on thehoya.com's updated content. The reason? The Hoya's email address on the registrar's file is outdated and no longer exists, so The Hoya had received no warning of the domain name expiration, and thus could not prevent the problem before it happened. Also, we regularly scan for broken links, but of course we are only human If you see any broken links, or have any feedback otherwise, I encourage you to let the webmaster know immediately at webmaster@thehoya.com, so the problem can be quickly ameliorated. In my experience, broken link problems have been rare and are almost always fixed the same morning that the issue makes the web. Thehoya.com is updated the morning the issue comes out in print, before (usually well before) the print edition arrives in the late morning or early afternoon. With the print edition finishing production as late as 3-4am, and Tuesday and Friday classes beginning as early as 9:15am, there is traditionally a narrow and predictable window in which the stories are posted on the web. This time has not fluctuated much in the past year. ------------------------------------ "Wherever you go, there you are"
