Does anyone have any CONCRETE information on the funding status and/or any other status of the following projects?
1) MSF 2) Boat House 3) Biz Building 4) Science Building
I'm looking for any info above and beyond what we've seen in The Hoya the last year or on GUHoyas.com (i.e. boathouse is in a legal battle, Phase I of MSF will be done this time next year, science building is at $8-20 million of a needed $100 million, etc.)

Good question, Buff. Just today I got curious about the MSF and tried to estimate how much has been raised. I came up with between $12.5 and $24 million, but that is just an estimate based on contributors, sorted by donation ranges, on GUHoyas.com.

And another (semantics) thing:
If Phase IA of the MSF is the construction of the artificial turf field, East Stands, North Lawn, and the permanent and temporary fencing (the existing scoreboard will be temporarily relocated and reused[/b], and Phase 1B of the MSF is completion of the West stands, permanent fencing, a two-level press box, support spaces, locker rooms, video and conference rooms, training room, and other support spaces as well as a new scoreboard, then what the heck is Phase 2 going to entail? Or did they just get creative with their naming here?
Why have a 1A and 1B if there is no 2? Why not go with Phase 1 and Phase 2? The only thing I can think of is the webmasters at GUHoyas screwed up? Maybe 1A is the field, 1B is the east stands, fences, north lawn, etc. and Phase 2 is the west stands and all the goodies that go with it.
Ahhh, the glories of G'Town insanity...

The boathouse environmental assessment is nearing completion, at which time construction could theoretically begin. However, the boathouse is still involved in a legal battle. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a while. From those I've spoken to "in the know," GU will get the boathouse eventually...it's just a matter of time...but I'd be surprised to see construction begin in the next two years.

This is 16-month old information, but for what its worth:
1) Science building has $12 million of the $38 million needed to start construction (entire project will be just over $100 million 2) Biz building has anywhere between $48-$72 million of the $82 million grand total 3) MSF has anywhere between $10-$15 million of the $22.5 million needed

[/quote] As far as I know, that's an outdated version of MSF phases. I think Phase one is now the field, the South fence, and temporary bleachers. Phase two will be everything else. Biz building should be breaking ground next summer. Otherwise, there's not too much information on timing, because all of these projects depend on a combination of fundraising and regulatory approvals.

I talked to an editor at The Hoya. He said the welcome back issue will have updates on everything, so we have that to look forward to.

I would imagine that Phase 2 of the MSF will involve expanding the seating capacity of the field - installing that jumbotron in the pictures of the finished product - expanding the office space in the MSF to house all athletics operations (and hopefully a new weight room).

No, that's Phase 1B StPete.
I think the problem is that this is just typical G'Town insanity. Phase 1A is Phase 1, Phase 1B is Phase 2. Who knows, who cares. Just get the damn thing done.

This sounds a lot like "Phase 1 - steal underpants, Phase 2 - ?, Phase 3 - profits".
Hopefully then Phase 2 is the creation of the adjoining JTII Center

Hopefully then Phase 2 is the creation of the adjoining JTII Center Appreciate the optimism, but this is not a University priority in the current environment.

Yeah I know it isn't - and the University is probably right to be fixing academic infrastructure issues by building a new business school building, a new science building, and the opening of the new performing arts center.
