Not sure if this was already pointed out, but I just noticed that guhoyas.com has a link that allows you to request Georgetown basketball information (i.e., season ticket packages, Hoop Club, etc.) available from the basketball page as well as the main Athletics home page. The cool thing (cool to me, at least) is that they seem to have focused this marketing push around the cheer that JT3 referenced in his press conference, "We are Georgetown". data.georgetown.edu/uis/keybridge/keyform/form.cfm?FormID=544

Could it be?!? An INSPIRED marketing move by the athletic department and SID?!? What bizzaro alternate dimension have I stumbled into? Is Clemson going to win their 12th straight ACC title this coming year or something?
In all honesty, this is - if I dare say - a brilliant move if they are going to use this as a rallying cry to get people psyched up for the program. Just have to remember not to have my hopes up too high this season...BUBBLE BID HERE WE COME!!!
GO HOYAS!!!

I tip my cap to whoever decided to put this up. It is an excellent way for them to generate some more volume in the HHC and in ticket sales.

Also, the memo from the Hoya Hoop Club announcing the cocktail reception for Hoop Club members to introduce JTIII on June 24th at McDonough ends with "We Are Georgetown."

GoldHoya -- I didn't attach the memo. I received it by snail mail, hardcopy only. I am going to attempt to attend to see what JT3 has to say about the upcoming season. I'm sure other Board members will be there as well.

Too bad the full announcement isn't active, because I can't wait to hear commentary on the letter's 4th paragraph: I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to thank Craig Esherick for his 30 years of dedicated service to the Georgetown basketball program, cluminating with his tenure as head coach. Speaking on behalf of all Hoop Club members, I want to wish Craig good luck in all of his future endeavors. Personally, although I am a Hoop Club member, I certainly hope they weren't speaking for me, because I only wish Craig well in 99% of his future endeavors, and then only assuming that 33% of his job is being considered.

I dislike Esherick as much as anyone and still do, but let's not criticize JT3 or other admin. for wishing him well, as much as some may not wish him well on this site and elsewhere. It is in the interests of the program for the new regime to build a decent bridge to the past, as there are some who can be very resourceful to the program moving forward whether it is former players or supporters of GU ball who were close to Esherick.

Now that one half of the Save the Hoyas mission is accomplished, this official solicitation of support (be it in a variety of ways) is a great way for us to contribute openly to the building of a strong basketball program. You can use the following as a "suggested" e-mail message to your friends, family, fellow alumni/students: "As you may know, there have been some changes in the leadership of Georgetown's basketball program. Many alumni and students are supportive of these changes and lobbied openly for them. With the change in leadership has come a re-emergence of Georgetown basketball in a local setting and a sudden resurgence in our recruiting cache. While the coaches are moving forward with their efforts, Athletic Director Joe Lang and the Athletic Department have invited students, alumni, and friends of Georgetown to participate in this resurgence by identifying themselves to the program and by asking for our participation in the numerous programs and events that are associated with the program. Please go to [insert link here] to show your support and enthusiasm. I encourage you to sign up on this form and to forward this message to your friends, fellow Georgetown alumni, and family. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your participation." I think this is worthwhile for us, as it is an official mechanism for change and for strengthening the program.

Well put, Jersey Hoya. A tear is streaming across my cheek as I type.
It don't mean nothing til the season starts tho. So let's get some enthusiasm, some cheers, some buzz surrounding the Hoyas this year, and most importantly, let's get some W's!
