Yeah it was only in a summer scrimmage, but it's a good sign for the season.

Nope - you read correctly FOOTBALL. I think this football season could be comparable to JTIII's first year for hoops - A huge step in the right direction.

Nice work, Hoyas! Wish I'd been there to see it. Sounds like a very promising start to the season.

guys, i'm all for positive thoughts and good hopes, but...come on. Could be a good sign for things to come from the team this year, but as always, I will exercise cautious optimism. Come on? Let's see, we're a I-AA football program that hasn't had a winning season since 1999. Maryland is a I-A BCS conference school that last went to a BCS bowl in 2001. Maryland is a full-scholarship program. The bulk of GU players pay their own way. I'm not saying I-AA teams can't play with I-A teams (see Montana State-Colorado and Minnesota-NDSU in 2006), but Georgetown is not exactly Appalachian State, and Maryland is not exactly Duke. I wasn't there to see the game, but this result indicates to me that our players are motivated and well-prepared for the upcoming season. I am not going to say we'll run the table in the PL this season or anything, but I would be very happy if this year's squad could build on this acheivement and finish above .500 for the first time in eight years.

Granted, 7-on-7 takes away some of the huge size advantage DI-A schools have, but they should really mop the field with us. Austin is right; this is a very good sign for the season, as is the fact that we threw the ball instead of running the same running plays over and over.

You got that right. It was a thing of beauty to see the ball actually go up in the air. We have guys that can catch it, we just need to throw it more. With running backs like Houghton, a passing game would open things up tremendously.
