Hoyas win baby! A defensive struggle ends with a Cangelosi TD pass to beat the Bison 17-13.
The postgame report a day early:
1. Our QB issues are solved.
2. Our running back questions are answered (the answer is unfortunately "throw more"), but that's OK because refer to point one.
3. Our defense looks great and controls the line of scrimmage.
Perhaps wishful thinking. But so much depends on the QB situation. We don't need Dan Marino from Nick, we just need Trent Dilfer. It is of the highest importance that the defense isn't constantly looking at a short field to protect. If the Hoyas hang onto the ball, this year has the potential to be a step forward.

Could not agree more with your assessment. I have said many times that with their defense, the Hoyas simply need first downs, not a bunch of touchdowns. If Nick and his teammates can hang onto the ball a while, the defense will hand them the short field often enough to win. If the special teams hold up, the Hoyas will be tough. I'll be there cheering, but I don't know where they're going stick us Hoya fans. Anyone else heading up to Lewisburg?

The last time Georgetown started a season on the road with a first time QB, Morgan Booth was never the same. I think Nick has a little more experience and can handle the pressure.
I'm as concerned about the running game and the chance of a lot of one and two yard gains, which puts pressure to pass. New QB's struggle in the passing game, so it's worth watching.

LB...I'll be making the trip down from Mass. Hope to see you and the other Hoya fans at the tailgate and whooping it up in the stands. The key to Nick's and the O's success will be the trenches...Nick will need time to throw, and the RB, whoever it turns out to be, needs some space to get things going. Defense will be solid...it will be interesting to see how they stack up compared to last years great D unit.
