Wasn't Friday media day for the Hoyas? I didn't see anything about them in Saturday's Post. Does anybody know if any media turned out? Are there any pre-season stories on the Hoyas I should read? I assume that reporters that might have been there would have been gathering information for some sort of season preview scheduled to come out in the next few weeks, but I'm curious if the team generated much media interest.

The captains, quarterbacks and some leading players from both the O and D were interviewed. I don't know where the reporters were from but there was a camera interview and a sit down with the reporters interview. I haven't seen any script out yet resulting from that.

I was at Media Day for The Hoya - I was the one doing the sit down interviews. There was also a reporter from the Post, but he was there just to talk to Michael Onanibaku and Coach Benson for a feature. There were the tv/camera interviews, but I was the ONLY print journalist there to cover the team. I talked to Benson, Onanibaku, Griauzde, Buzbee, Cangelosi, Allan, Davis, Castergine, Slayton, Banks and Carter. Look for a story in The Hoya's first issue - Aug. 26th - which will have quotes from Media Day (don't expect to see a script as I was the only one taping the interviews). As an aside, I got the info that Sarin's playing days are over from Coach Benson at Media Day, so you can trust me on the other thread that that is the truth.

Thanks for the update, Calihoya. That's too bad about Sarin.
