Luke was the best Hoya football player during my time on the hilltop, and one of our best ever. He's the alltime leader for total yardage. The struggles of the offense last year were definiltely connected to losing one of the best offensive players in the Patriot league. Glad to see he's still playing, because he is very talented.
They list him at 6 feet, which I kind of doubt.

Had the opportunity to see McCardle play twice during his senior year. Not only does he have skills, but he is a very intelligent and relentless player. Best example was a play that I saw during his last game at Bucknell. He caught a third down pass and even with his back to the sticks, he knew that he was just short of the first down. He then began stretching out with the ball as he was going down. He did this at some real risk as it left him defenseless.
While that may seem like a play that one would expect of a top player, I was particularly struck by the fact that it occurred in the fourth quarter of a road game that the Hoyas had been out of by halftime. There might have been all of 20 Georgetown fans in the stands who would care, but it seemed like that was simply how he played the game and he was not finishing his career in any other way.

McCardle was an amazing player. I completely agree w/ nyc that a lot of the offense's struggles were due to his graduating (Walter Bowser graduating hurt as well). I'm glad to see he caught on somewhere, because he was a definate talent. Hopefully this is the spring board to great things for him in his pro career.

Has anyone heard of this league, UIF? How big is it? Didn't it used to be the NIFL? Different rules than AFL and AF2 and probably slightly smaller than AF2.
