Has anybody else seen this?? Kim Sarin: A special player with unique football sense...a team tri-captain...ranks eighth all-time at Georgetown in career rushing yards with 1,416, fifth in yards per carry at 4.99 and 10th in career carries with 284... an explosive runner with break-away ability...is fifth at Georgetown in kickoff return yards with 671, second in punt return average (10.1), sixth in kickoff return average (19.7) and eighth in all-purpose yardage with 2,306...off season back injury could limit time on the field this season...Can anybody confirm? Is Sarin really hurt? I got this here: guhoyas.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/sarin_kim00.html, but still... really?!?

Ugh, if true, which I have every reason to believe that it is, this really sucks.
calihoya07, we have very similar names on here. Someone had to say it.

That could be new. I didn't notice that last week when I started writing my piece for my blog, as well as it's not mentioned in any prospectus that I'm aware of.
Not good news indeed.

I know Kim didn't participate much in spring ball due to an injury, but I don't remember what it was. That being said, I hope that it isn't as serious as it's made out to be (though back injuries are horrible--I know, my back is horrible.

I know I was the one that started this thread, but I got an answer to my own question and I figured I should share... Kim Sarin is out and done - not just for the season, but FOREVER. According to Coach Benson, Sarin has a hereditary back injury and won't see anymore playing time. He said they have known about the injury for a while - at least since the spring - but that Sarin will remain a captain and a leader for the team anyway. Benson and the players I talked to all said Sarin would be missed but that Marcus Slayton and Emir Davis should be able to fill in well at running back.

Ouch. Ouch. That really, really sucks, both for Kim and for the team (assuming this is accurate.) Sarin was our best offensive player by a pretty good margin last year, and losing him definitely stings. If it's true, my heart goes out to Sarin, who was a true warrior on the field who played several multiples bigger than his stature.

Where does John Sims fit in this year?

That's a tough break for Sarin. I thought he'd definitely be the go-to guy in the offense this year, even with Slayton, Sims, & Davis coming back. Sarin provided an undeniable spark to an offense that desperately needed it with the loss of McArdle, and while I'm sure the remaining three will be able to pick up the slack, he will definitely be missed.
Good luck to you, Kim.

If it is any indication of how Kim is regarded by the team and staff, I hear that he will maintain his position as one of the team captains this season. I would expect to see him on the sidelines helping in every way that he can.
Also I recall reading a fine article/interview about Kim in The Hoya during the latter part of last season. He came off as a class individual who will succeed in whatever he chooses to do. If his football efforts tell us anything, he will never back down from a challenge.

Kim has been to practises ever since last weekend and he is there with the guys all the time helping the coaches and just teaching the younger guys things. Great for our Hoyas to learn by example because there isn't a better person and player to immulate.
