I have absolutely zero "insider" knowledge on the team, but it appears there is going to be a quarterback controversy this spring and perhaps into the season.
Keith Allan wasn't always given the best opportunities last year and it was his first year at QB so he definitely deserves another shot at winning the job.
Nick Cangelosi is probably the most highly recruited player on the team, having originally signed with UNC. He has the size (I believe he is 6'4", but it maybe 6'3") and, judging from his stint at UNC, the talent.
Who do you all think should be the starter?

I have heard that Keith Allan is taking most of the snaps he was hurt last year, but has recovered. he too like Cangelosi was sought after by div.1 ARMY and like Cangeelosi was red shirted. Allan was Ist team both Baseball and Football, very FAST. If he stays healthy I would say he is the one to chase . He looked good in the first scrimmage lets see what goes on Saturday.WHATS the story on Sarrin, is he hurt have not seen him in the backfield. Offensive line looks much improved and receiver corp. is getting it together. Our Defense May be the best in the league this year. Watch out Patriot league here come the HOYA'S.

I hear that we'll have another opportunity to take a look on Sunday. A scrimmage is scheduled for 2:00 PM, but the location was uncertain earlier this week. It will either be at Kehoe, or it may be at Gonzaga HS since they have the same surface that is being installed in the MSF.
My impression is that both Allan and Cangelosi are very good athletes, so this Spring and next August will be very interesting. As for a QB controversy, there may be one in the stands, but there won't be one in the locker room. If you know Coach Uzelac, you will understand that last comment. Weather looks good for Sunday...

I don't. Could you explain a little? There are several ways to understand it right now.
Thanks.

On the topic of QB's--is Alondzo Turner coming back this year, or is he permantly off the team?
And, I don't know what's up with Sarin, but he's at the practices w/ no pads, but I also see him helping out in drills, running, cutting, etc.

Sorry to have been so cryptic. My impression is that Coach Uzelac is a very strong individual who will make a decision and be firm about it. To illustrate, last year he was strongly behind Keith Allan and despite Keith's injury and the ineffective offense, he stuck with him for quite a while. Once he makes the decision, he will make his position clear to his players. That's why I said there may be a controversy among the fans, but not within the team. In my opinion, that's where it matters.

I don't think alondzo turner will be back with the team in the future, last i heard he doesn't go to georgetown anymore (not sure if it was a personal decision or if he got the boot).

its really too bad about turner. our offense last year was very well suited for him.

I talked to Kim Sarin today--he has a herniated disc in his back. I don't think it's that serious, as he was playing intermural bball, and I've seen him running and cutting and stuff, but he's not participating in practices b/c of his back.

good post LB POP. there is alot of talent out there and positions will be picked by the coaches who see players day in and day out. They can judge talent, attitude and overall skills. Hope to see this weeks scrimmage before the Spring Game. It'S still fun to throw some controversy from the stands for our favorite players. The big overall picture is that we put it together and put a BIG dent in the Patriot League and build a reputation as our Basketball TEAM did in the 80's. GO HOYA'S PULL IT TOGETHER AS a FAMILY. see you at the scrimmage or the games.

are they sticking with the option offense that they ran for part of last year in 05? or do they plan to be more diverse?
it seems like we need to get the ball in sarin's hands as much as possible
