BenedictArnold College just found out that the cachet of [glow=red,2,300]A C C[/glow] may not be the drawing card they thought it would be... Not a great sign for BC Eagles spurned by top recruits By Michael Vega, Globe Staff | February 3, 2005www.boston.com/sports/colleges/football/articles/2005/02/03/not_a_great_sign_for_bc/It's a shame that the 'strong academic ties' to the ACC didn't hold more sway with these prospective 'student athletes.' I'm shocked, I say, SHOCKED!

"As I said, sometimes we just can't sell the greatness of Boston College to everybody," coach Tom O'Brien said yesterday. "They don't see it the way we do."
That's cause at 18, they aren't old enough to legally drink the ACC's kool-aid.

It might have been easier for Coach O'Brien to sell the greatness of BC if he had not spent so much time exploring the greatness of the University of Washington while recruits were making decisions.

Just wanted to say "Good for Brian Cushing." He went with his choice (USC) over his parents' choice (BC).

EVERYONE goes to USC. I don't follow football recruiting, and I don't know how exact a science it is, but the ratings of their recruits are ungodly. They have one of the top 2 or 3 players at practically every position on the field. Where are all these kids going to play? And is USC ever going to lose?

I hasten to add (as something of a longtime Trojan fan) that Southern Cal has always had incredible recruiting classes and only recently has been using them to great effect. They used to throw them away with both hands in the late 80s and 90s. Must be the hands-down finest cheerleaders west of the Missisip. So yes, they will eventually lose. Just not next year. Who knows, if they win 10 national titles in a row, SFHoya99 might begin to think about granting them dynasty status.

So how do we go about getting cheerleaders/song leaders like that at GTown? I mean, football and basketball could definately use 'em

I love to call it Southern Cal because I hate Southern Cal...

There is a governing body of cheerleading that is not NCAA affiliated, UCA. Now called Varsity it is like an international club for Cheer and Dance and basically runs the competitions and such. If we became members of that many more cheerleaders that were UCA members in high school would join. The website is www.varsity.com if any of you work for the Athletic Department.
