Am I reading this right, 1 offensive lineman? I thought that was one of our weak spots last year Then again I don't remember last year's recruiting class, so perhaps that one was loaded with OL's? Anyone recall?

Hostetler is the nephew of former Giants' QB Jeff and the Baltimore Sun and Washington Post player of the year for Howard County. Dad played at Penn St. Intriguing.

Theres got to be a few more recruits than that, they usually bring in between 25-30 and that list only shows 20.
Regardless I dont think our line played too bad last year. We did have our first ever 1000 yard rusher. Inexperience at the quarterback position seemed to have the biggest affect on the team's play.
The line that finished the last couple games of the season out only loses one player, a great player in Terrazino, but if someone steps up the line will be fine -- the rest of the O (other than the backfield) has to step up as well.

Note the size of the WRs on the list, three of 'em >6'. If they have wheels, moves, and hands, then we're starting to cook. Jasper I. has a year under his belt as well. I predict a much more effective O next year. All RBs coming back, a year of experience with the new system...I'm encouraged. Also, the D should again be nasty, maybe even nastier. Can't wait for the spring game!!

The Washington Post has the same list of players and no other information. Not a lot of DC Metro kids this year, but from the list in today's paper only a handful of kids are going to Ivy/Patriot league schools.

That signing of "Gunner" Coil is a real coup for the Hoyas. Apparently he was the #1 QB on the board of several PL teams.

How many QB's do we need? It seems like we've already got a decent number and we're signing a bunch more. Makes me think that we dont have much confidence in the current group, but maybe I just dont know enough about football recruiting.

Makes me think that we dont have much confidence in the current group, but maybe I just dont know enough about football recruiting. I have heard coaches say that they will over-recruit the quarterback position because many times the quarterback in high school is (one of) the best athletes on the team, and will be able to play a number of positions if QB doesn't work out. That was my personal experience while I was there. Gharun Hester came in as a QB and left as Georgetown's best ever receiver, and I can think of other QB's who became d-ends and d-backs.

forget the pretty cheerleaders, or maybe not, ours are fine. WE have two potential great QB"S ALLAN and CANGELOSI we need offensive linemen to make the system a go. Our backs are good The DEFENSE will be great. Lets shock the league and win the damn thing. Build or start the "NEW field and the TEAM wil also have incentive mentally" Get some offesive linemen. Our coaches and QB"s need "bodies" to work with. OH don"t forget throwing long passes so we don"t give the opposing defense a chance to play a fullbox 11 and kill the running game.

From the Plain Dealer: "Collin Meador, TE 6-3 235 St. Ignatius: Georgetown Comment: Tough blocker and reliable receiver" Keep your eye on this one...

An article on Tomlinson from a suburban chicago newspaper. "Tomlinson Picks Hoyas Over Harvard" www.dailyherald.com/prepsports/prep_story.asp?intid=3839318He played in a good football conference, the East Suburban Catholic Conference, that last season produced one state champion, and the year before produced two state champions of Illinois' 8.
