After watching this team for two weeks, I see a nice upside. The defense is tough and although they can be beaten by the passing game, a QB needs to have some guts to stand in against Michael 'O' and the multiple blitzes. Obviously, the offense didn't do much last Saturday, but I'm willing to give the new OC and QB a chance to make the adjustments. Sure, Colgate and Lehigh will be killers, but Duquesne...

i agree, i think we can win, as long as the offense does a half decent job with limited mistakes.

I don't really like that the Dooks come in with a solid passing game - Lafayette was almost pathetically one-dimensional, but they still managed a long(ish) TD pass, whereas Duquesne seems to have a habit of uncorking a long score through the air against the Hoyas year in and year out. If the Hoyas aren't getting consistent and solid pressure up front, it could make for a very long afternoon.
I wish I could share your optimism, but I'm not there right now. The Dooks are tough at home, and having just gotten smacked in the mouth by Robert Morris won't sit well. That being said, I remember being impressed by Robert Morris's team back when the Hoyas played them in what I think is the (now-defunct) ECAC non-scholarship Div-IAA bowl (or something like that), so maybe their lost last week means they do have some matchup problems.
Unless Allan just needed more time to adjust to the offense and shake off the rust, however, I think this game is more likely to tell us more about how we'll measure up against Holy Cross later in the season than wind up as a momentum-shifting win. It'll take a fundamentally sound team in all aspects tomorrow to bring home a win, and the team I saw last Saturday still had a way to go in that respect on O and special teams.
Needless to say, I'll still be glued to the webcast. Maybe WGTB will have fixed their feedback problems by then.

Oh yeah, the good old ECAC-IFC Bowl! That's a blast from the (sort of recent) past!

I agree completely about the pressure. If the Duquesene QB is allowed to feel comfortable, it could be difficult. I'm counting on about four or five sacks and perhaps a fumble on one of them. I think your comments about Allan and "rust" are accurate. If he is good enough to clearly beat out Cangelosi, he has some ability that we didn't see last week. Also, I suspect he wasn't nearly 100% healed last week.
Now after saying all that, I'm getting psyched because I will be at the game. Thanks to Independence Air, I can fly to Pittsburgh and back for less than the price of dinner for two at Clyde's. And, maybe the best part is that they have removed rain from the Pittsburgh forecast. Go Hoyas!
