the Hoya program and the St. Francis's of the world. One ranking I saw had St. Francis as the third worst IAA team in the nation- behind some MAAC dregs. I know you shouldn't read too much into the first game, especially when its non-league, but the next step the program needs to take is the emphatic beating on a consistent basis of teams the old MAAC champion Hoyas teams would have thrashed. YOu just can't compete in a league with a National Title finalist and struggle with St. Francis. Well you can, but its going to be harder to excuse this year.

While I share your desire to see the Hoyas come out and jump on St. Francis, I just want to see a solid performance. There have been lot's of changes this year--new O Coordinator, new (effectively) D Coordinator, several transfers and, of course the usual group of recruits. I think this team will improve throughout the year, so I'm glad they have some "winnable" games before they travel to upstate NY. I think some good things are in store and the kids report next week...can't wait.

St. Francis is surely going through just as many changes, and it will be their first game too. Need to put the hammer down in this game- no matter what week it is.
