If you watch ESPN Classic, Dick was the Gus Johnson of color guys back in the 80s. Unfortunately, like most people with a comedic edge, that persona got locked in and it has become a parody of itself.

I think it makes sense for them to slide over Bilas. I believe Raft belongs to CBS on Saturdays, even when he doesn't have a game on a particular Saturday.

Shulman's great on baseball (especially when with Dave Campbell on radio); I bet he'll be great on hoops as well when paired with a competent analyst as opposed to a cheerleader.

Balla, Schulman is actually a guy I think is a pro--and does a nice job of letting the game take the stage. He's also a guy who likes Hoya program--and always has--not that it matters--but he will stick up for GU when others get talked about--even with Esherick coaching--Schulman would say nice things about Hoyas when nobody knew Georgetown BB still existed.

Since I automatically but ESPN on mute when Vitale is talking, I don't know how good Schulman is. He just goes along with Dicky.

Calling JAY BILAS--Hoya game requires your presence. Good riddance to Vitale--my CBB season just became more enjoyable and Stuart Scott is down as well--this is THE YEAR. Sorry that it had to be due to illness--but any season without Vitale is better. He was once great for the game--and now he just exploits it like everyone else at ESPN or anything else they do. BTW--if Doug Gottlieb shows up as the replacement announcer instead of Bilas--the entire game will be watched on MUTE. Just read that Stuart Scott has cancer, which his doctors discovered when they were removing his appendix. While his prognosis is apparently good, I think this removes any cause for joy at his absence.

Shulman and Bilas confirmed they'd be at the Memphis game during the first half of Duke-Pitt. And on the subject of Gus Johnson, I saw his new website after reading the interview he did with Awful Announcing. The ringtone idea is...ummmm...interesting: www.gusjohnsonsports.com/index.php

I got nothin but luv for Stu. Hope he recovers. He can be a bit annoying with his Stu-ism, so to each hi/hers own. Stu, Rich Eisen, Kilborn, and Dan Patrick were the best Sports Center guys(IMO). That show has went into the toilet with all of the elites corny stiffs they have on there now They should just make Sports Center North East regional at this point.

Vitale should call it a carnival and retire. As time progresses and his favorite son Coach Hypocritszky of Duke is called to the carpet for the dirty play of his team, not winning despite McDonalds aa stockpiles, Pete Gaudette and his coaching tree being a complete mess it would break his heart. Stay home Dukie V and defend Roger Clemens.

having to watch the stuart scott poetry jam prevents me saying anything nice about him. he ruins every show he is on. vitale became a talking puppet a long time ago. just pull the string and the same garbage comes out every game he does. other than bilas, chris fowler and maybe a couple others, most of the espn personalities are just about promoting themselves instead of reporting sports.

I forgot about the poetry jam phase(LOL).
Always liked Chris Fowler. He was the only one on the Limbaugh network with the stones to call out Bobby Bowden for saying some of the most racist comments ever.
