I didn't realize how thin SU's bench is. They basically had a track meet tonight and only played 8 guys. Not only that, but according to the ESPN box score, their 5 starters played 34, 37, 38, 38, & 38 minutes, with no one from the bench getting double digit minutes. No wonder they are lazy on D.

UNC winning at OSU without Lawson makes them the #1 team right now, IMO. I dont really know why they lost it to begin with. Give them credit, they play some good OOC games.
Thank goodness for Seton Hall. Can the big east please win some games?

However, they do go to Rupp on Saturday to play Kentucky.

UNC seems to have the same problems that plagued them last year. Long scoring droughts and poor perimeter defense. The only difference seems to be that this year they have less talent and depth to hide these weaknesses. Today Ohio St went about 11 minutes without scoring a field goal in the second half and UNC only went up by ten? Thats not a very sign and it is the reason they lost to us in the elite eight. Unless they can correct whatever the problem is that causing these droughts I think they can expect a similiar fate this season.

"Defense for this team is the time spent until we get the ball back and try to score."
SU = clown ball right now. I can watch that kind of crap on MTV.
On Edit: Isn't it great that we can now tune in to other teams' games and actually enjoy them instead of having to think about how we stack up, how we can possibly match up with others, etc.? JT3 has enabled us to enjoy this sport again.

WG running in quicksand to start the second half, giving up an 1820-6 run to UCLA.

Regarding the Cuse game, I've been reading that some of Devo's anger (with the fouls) was directed at the SU student section. Some student shouted "you guys cant play defense" and Devo mouthed off at him. Additionally, the SU student section was also chanting bad things about their AD and President, and both had to be escorted by campus police throughout the game...
Classy.

Continuing from prior thread: I WANT CUSE TO LOSE EVERY GAME THEY PLAY!
MrSixer: you never ever ever root for your rival to win a game.
I want the Big East to look good and have a strong RPI, and because of that I will root for every other Big East team except for Cuse to win its OOC games.

mrsixer! Welcome back! It's just not as interesting without you around....
I'm all for the RPI arguments, and cheer heartily for everyone in the conference.
Except Syracuse. Other than a Hoya win, nothing makes me happier in basketball than a Syracuse loss. The minimal RPI hit is well worth it.

"If a player runs afoul of the law or flunks out of school, it isn’t good for the conference's reputation; but the Boeheim Exception can allow you to fully enjoy the malfeasance. If a great player bolts for the NBA after one year, it weakens the conference.........." complete nonsense!!! 1. so we are now cheering when kids break the law and flunk out of school? 2. the author clearly states the demise/negative situations involving cuse have a direct negative impact on us. 3. when did we start looking to nd fans for guidance? 4. big john has expressed on numerous occasions, in various forums, that boeheim is a stand up man, close friend, and "simply one of the best." let me see, who's opinion will i accept? big john's opinion or a fan?
