caught most of the su game. my initial take on the su frosh is that they're pretty good. flynn has nice speed and a decent handle. didn't see any real passing skills from him. donte green is legit. 6'9", decent handle, can shoot, nice post moves, boards and plays hard. seeing summers matched up on him will be a real treat.
harris has improved his jumper is a tough matchup due to his trucklike physique and exceptional athleticism. devendorf is still the same - follows a nice play with a bonehead play. i'd love to see hibbert lay him out.
i thought su looked good tonight. they played hard and also switched into an effective man to man for a duration. i never understood why boeheim is so committed to the zone.

Louisville now down 8 with under 2 to play....shooting over 50 percent from the field but 3-14 from 3.
Edit: Down they go 78-76. Caracter was 10-11 from the field as well.

Lousiville boards are in meltdown mode...WVU has the potential to have a nice little sports weekend for themselves.

WVU lost but proved that it could be a really tough team this season.
Boys, its going to be a war at ODU. That team haas been playing very well and is only down by four points against UNC at the half. ODU is supposedly dominating on the boards.
Louisville shooting over 50% and still losing to BYU? Just amazing.

I think it's safe to say Louisville has dropped from co-big east favorite, at least for the time being. But WVU and (i'm going to vomit) 'Nova surprised me. And ODU is absolutely going to be a dogfight. The 3rd place game between ODU and Louisville tomorrow has HUGE implications as well.

I, too, watched most of this game and while my anti-orange colored glasses may be in the way, I didn't think this win was as much due to Syracuse looking good as Washington really hurting themselves. I agree Greene looks like a great player. I've watched most of SU's games and he has been very good in all of them both inside and outside. Other than that, the team is a big roller coaster. Flynn played great his first game and while he got to the line a lot yesterday, his performance has dropped considerably when SU has played good teams. Washington had a ton of passes bouncing off players hands out of bounds and couldn't seem to get out of their own way. They owned SU on he boards by a huge margin, but also committed a TON of fouls(many of them stupid) which really hurt them in the 2nd half. Syracuse will get some big wins this year, I am sure.......however, I think any team that plays solid defense(their best offense seems to be in transition) and runs a disciplined offense will give them a lot of trouble.....especially if they have any kind of inside game. In other words, we should NOT lose to this team!!!!

UNC pulled away in the 2nd half. Louisville plays ODU tomorrow in the Vegas 3rd place game, generating some great scouting video for the GU coaching staff.

Washington didn't make the tourney last year and lost a lottery pick, overrated though he might be. I'm not sure they are any good.
