Walked out of the metro this morning (in Foggy Bottom, no less), and staring me right in the face was John Thompson III next to the words, "We are Georgetown." I had to smile as this ad on the bus made its way through the WG campus. If you've seen it, it's a pretty badass ad.

It's similar to the ad they have run in the Wash Post recently. I also saw the bus ad this morning - pretty cool.

Wow that's awesome! It sounds a lot better than the awkwardly blunt anti-abortion ads I saw last time I was on a Metrobus. JTIII is much more pleasant bus decoration.

The Rosslyn Metro station is full of ads for GMU basketball.

Last year there was a Georgetown Basketball ad on the platform in the Foggy Bottom Metro station.

Closet WG students will ever get to a decent basketball team? Lord knows we're not actually going to play them.

I saw the same thing earlier today, it was a nice reminder that we no longer suck. They never would've put a gtown picture on the side of a buss a couple years ago.

Yep, I totally agree with your sentiment. This may sound stupid to you, but I think saturating the metro area with Hoyas marketing is a positive sign of our institutional self-confidence. It's like looking a man in the eye while giving a firm handshake. If Georgetown thinks it can be the predominant university in DC, it really ought to act like it. A little well-earned swagger is a good thing.

Best Metro marketing ever was MD buying the whole station out at MCI for the month of the last ACC tourney there and losing their first game to Clemson (in the middle of the 3 game loss streak that year to the Tigers) on the play-in day.

Georgetown is taking over the public transportation system--the ads were in the metro this morning. I like.

I smiled for a month going to work (through Metro Center).
