For those of us (like me) who are less plugged in... is he still in the mix at Georgetown? I know he is super raw but had read that he was making good progress skills wise and had a work ethic to boot... anyone from the area have any thoughts?

He's visiting UCF this weekend. He'll have his press releases throughout the year--so dont' worry--you'll hear plenty about him. There are some professional athletes that don't have a PR firm like this kid does.
I dont' think he's in GU's plans at all. We'll find out how good he is too-because his HS has scheduled an aggressive schedule and if he proves himself--he'll have earned it on the court.
As for Hoya interest--it was as alwayas has been mentioned (monitoring phase). They'll keep an eye on him--but I think the direction program is going with its recruiting says he's not in plans.

There are some professional athletes that don't have a PR firm like this kid does. Jakub did get invited to Georgetown's MM, but couldn't go. So, the Hoyas are still monitoring Jakub. btw, Rdf, Jakub's coach, Anthony Macri, wanted me to tell you that he puts out the same PR stuff on every kid in his program, not just Jakub. It's all about helping their kids get opportunities.

Well--if you can play--they find you. It's that way in every sport and you don't need press releases to help someone. If these kids can play--their talents will sell themself. I've NEVER seen a team release more PR stuff then this HS--in any sport. I actually applaud Macri for not releasing a damn press release about Jakub being invited to MM by Hoyas. Just perform on the court and let your play speak for itself. Coaches can see for themselves--and they are who the coach should be talking to--not getting "press" for kids in the media and talking about drills. Games matter--drills dont'.

Well each to his own, I guess. I get them from several coaches and like them cause they keep me up to date, with very little effort on my part. In effect, they're not much different than the dozens of daily notices I get from Scout, Rivals and some of the other services and BB blogs.
