It was gray, so don't count on it.
For whatever reason, Nike refuses to sell anything to the public in the gray Hoya scheme. Everything is in navy (jerseys, shorts, warmups, sweatshirts). I'm not talking about your random t-shirt, just things that would be even remotely associated with on-court apparel.
For instance, on the Real Sports piece about him last year, Coach wore a sweet Jumpman sweatshirt. It was a hoodie, had about a three-inch zipper down from the collar, "Georgetown" across the chest in the same font as seen on the jerseys, a smaller Jumpman logo over the left brest, the "G" with the blue basketball inside in on the left sleeve, and the hand-warmer pocket things along the stomach. The navy one was for sale in limited quantities (thank god I got one... greatest sweatshirt ever), but the gray never went on sale.
Believe me, I looked. And looked. And looked, and looked, and looked...

I have one also. Eastbay is where I got it. Wallace had a sweet one on when he came home last year. It was gray.

I was looking on Eastbay and you're right. All I saw were blue sweatshirts. They had some OK ones but nothing nearly as cool as what JT III was sporting the other night. In general, it seems most of the gear (especially the crap on GU Hoyas.com bookstore site) is pretty ugly. Why can't they make some of this other stuff available? I understand that the team warm-ups and stuff should be proprietary but what's wrong with making some replicas of the other stuff available? I mean get out of here with that antiqued acid-washed G crap. I want to wear something with a little class.

I mean get out of here with that antiqued acid-washed G crap. I want to wear something with a little class. I'm much too interested in all this stuff, so indulge me for a second. You're discussing two separate factors that have annoyed me since I arrived at Georgetown. 1) Nike hasn't sold the good basketball apparel, most likely due to the then-waning interest in the program. Since then, the ath dept signed a deal last year to be an all-Nike school. Then, we won a couple games last March. Those two factors should result in much more Georgetown Nike/Jordan Brand merch being available this year. Our participation in the Elite line alone will give us a larger presence in Eastbay if not in traditional retail stores. 2) The merchandise buyer(s) at the bookstore are totally out of touch with styles and tastes of the moment. They usually have a bunch of sweatshirts with all kinds of funky stuff down the sleeves and the back and on the hood, and almost no classic sweatshirts with just GEORGETOWN. When they do have stuff that sells, you have to buy it immediately, because they rarely re-order things that sell out. Because that would make sense. On top of that, some times they just make choices that make you scratch your head. For example, the last two years or so they thought that half the people who wanted apparel wanted it in green. I missed it when DeGoia made the announcement that the school colors are green and gray. I understand that "fashion" colors such as pink have revolutionized women's buying trends in sports team-licensed apparel. But the green and orange shirts they had didn't make much sense. They just tend to buy ugly stuff. I refuse to buy at the bookstore unless they have something I know I can’t get somewhere else, and will continue to do so until someone who has some merchandising sense takes it over. Forgive me for my rant. I probably just killed this thread.

Somebody needs to rent space on M street and open up a campus shop -- the market should be there (both in visitors to the neighborhood, and in on-line sales potential).

They were selling the green stuff and all that generic Gear for Sports stuff back in the early 90s - thankfully no pink or orange back then.

I've been complaining for years about the cruumy looking logo stuff they sell. Real opportunity lost in this area - whether it's the students looking for quality stuff or older alums like me looking for good looking tee stirts or simple classy attire. You shouldn't have to surf the web to find stuff the school could be making money on right on their own on-line store. But let's not cloud the issue with logic ------

Perhaps they don't understand sports and think we want HOYAS shirts in all our favorite opponents color schemes: Orange=Syracuse Green=ND Brown=? Yes, they really were selling HOYAS shirts in all these colors last year.

The home jerseys are on sale this year via Eastbay. Indeed they are. Quite the shock, actually. Too bad that's about all they are selling in gray. No shorts (what I really want), no cool sweatshirts, nada. That "fleece warmup hoody" or whatever Eastbay calls it is close to the one I described in my first post in this thread, but the block "Georgetown" would be much cooler than that stupid "G" with the blue basketball logo.

They'll almost certainly have shorts. Give them some time. They haven't listed shorts for any teams. Wow, there's more new stuff today. There's already more stuff listed than at any point in the last four years.
