It will be at the Verizon Center, duh. The better question is, who will be the opponent?

Uh, I think he was referring to a home game this year that would justify these ticket prices.

Well, there's Cuse, L'Ville, Nova, ND, UConn, and Michigan. That's six solid home games on the schedule.

WHERE IS OUR MARQUEE OUT OF CONFERENCE HOME GAME ? -CASUALLY Casual, Your expectations are way too high. All I want is an out-of-conference home game against an "average" team (like somebody who played in the NCAA tournament last year). Davidson or Vanderbilt would make me happy at this point. Even with the Big East home schedule, there are still only a total of 3 games against NCAA teams from last year (ND, LVille and Nova). Now get ready for the apologists to tell you about how hard it is to schedule at Verizon, how all of these games occur during exams, how our ticket prices are lower than Florida's ticket prices, how the money you pay/"donate" should be with nothing in return, etc.

I'm with you, Dhall.
I'd take a home game against the LA Galaxy at this point.
Casually.

Uh, I think he was referring to a home game this year that would justify these ticket prices. I'm well aware, but if people are sick of the facilities debate, they must be dying of this one. If you don't think the games are worth it, don't buy them. If you have to buy them to stay in for the long haul, what's your complaint. BECAUSE ALL GOOD GAMES ARE A HOME AND HOME, EVENTUALLY HOME AND AWAY BIG GAMES EVEN OUT. WE CAN'T PLAY MEMPHIS AT HOME WITHOUT PLAYING THEM ON THE ROAD. The only exception is tournaments, and we don't play in a lot of those.

Will we be as good without Hibbert and Ewing and Wallace and possibly others? It may not even out at all, which is why it would be nice to have more than one home-and-home going on with a decent team. We had Oregon, Duke and Vandy going the past two years.

We're supposed to start Up with duke again next year if rumours are to believed. And While i'm sure memphis will loose a lot, they've got a pretty good program so i'm sure they'll still have a decent team. I'm sure they'll have some good recruits coming in. I don't expect anyone besides possibly summers to go pro early, So we'll still have austin, chris, macklin, rivers, plus braswell, henry sims, clark and possibly riek and or monroe. I think we'll be fine.

This is no different (actually better because the games at least count) than NFL or NBA season tickets where you have to buy the preseason games to be able to buy the regular season games if you want to have your seats for the entire season.

I agree with SF's points about home and aways evening out, but Beginning, the different is that NFL and NBA teams don't select their non-conference/non-division opponents. We do.

I wouldn't say Gtown gets to select their OOC opponents--they get a say in who they play, definitely, but there's a lot of other stuff that plays a role. It's more like Gtown has veto power while NBA/NFL teams don't

I think we left it in our other pants.
You never know, there is still one more game to be scheduled. I know it's unlikely but we could still pull a decent game out of our ass.

If you include William and Mary, we have one more non-conference game to schedule at most (you don't have to play a full 29 games). Not knowing the BE schedule must make it very hard for the school to schedule anyone. Despite this, there is room for another legit game. That said, we've got four of eleven legit non-conference games. I don't see a fifth coming.

This is awesome. I hear they pay gazillions at Florida.
Seriously though,
Just like it has been said--if you think that the cost of the tickets does not reflect the value of the home schedule than don't purchase the tickets. Do you think the coaches schedule based on appeasing season ticket holders? They now have 9 Big East home games to work with, which probably causes them to think harder about that bigger name OOC games. Even if you factor in the extra BE game being a patsy (say Seton Hall), they are still going to have reservations about playing another Michigan or Alabama type team at home because he has to worry about another BE game.
What is that you say? You know the coaches don’t care about ticket prices but Georgetown should price according to the schedule? That’s a good idea. Let Georgetown adjust its prices based on the marquee home match-ups. Sure this year would be cheaper (so far) but would you have been happy about paying $100 more per ticket to the Duke game two years ago or the Illinois game the year before? You would have been seriously bent out of shape at the time if they had thrown on a “Marquee Game Surchage” on the bottom of your renewal form.
SFHoya’s point about playing Home and Homes is a good point. You HAVE to play home and homes with teams to get good games. That’s how we got Illinois and Duke and that is how we got Memphis. It just so happens that it looks like of the two games with them, Memphis got the one where both teams will be better. We got lucky with Illinois and Duke both being #1 when they came to town. The return games in those series were much less “valuable” than when we got them at home.
