This Thread has been a good read. I’m one of the people that was happy when Ewing got a chance to coach and I tune into every televised game rooting for a W. I think the optics of all the departures looks awful for this program. I understand why Gardner, Alexander and LeBlank left the team, they got in trouble with the law. Not Ewing’s fault. He treats the guys as men and if they make bad decisions then he can have them on ankle bracelets watching there every move. When Ackinjo left I figured well, just an unhappy kid with a bad attitude or a good kid that wasn’t fitting in....IDK. I’m not in the lockeroom so I gave Ewing a pass. But this Whole Mac situation makes our programs look awful. Why did Mac leave? He was going to get the keys to the castle right? Primary guard running the show putting his talents on display every night for all too see. I still don’t know the reason he transferred?! I get he couldn’t make it in the draft, was advised again G league or overseas yet he chooses to leave us! Looks awful. Even I’m like what the heck is going on here!? I feel like with the student misbehavior, transfers, and the 2-3 star recruits this is as bad as it gets. The optics read like this. Last few years Ewing got some good players. They came, they saw, then they ran out of here at warp speed. Just my observation from a longtime fan in CT.

Wasn’t Kenny Brunner like the most overrated. One day he was playing and next day gone. Without social media and limited internet there was no information as to WTF happened. Brunner was a remarkable talent and was not overrated. However, there was anecdotal information, even in the Bill Shapland media era, that Brunner was in some sort of trouble on campus before he skipped out. This sounds crazy but I remember something about a samauri sword.

Well, he's bigger and more athletic than Steph Curry and quite a few other guards in the NBA I'm sure too... so what's your point? If he's so big and athletic, why couldn't he start for FGC as a freshman or sophomore? Clearly he had some serious skill deficiencies. Mac might not be Steph Curry skill wise, but he must be a lot more skilled at this point in his career than this guy was, for him to be averaging twice as many points as a sophomore for a much bigger/better school basketball wise. To be clear, I never said Mac was a surefire NBA player. I think his best bet to get there is developing his PG skills. As I stated in a previous post... going to the G League and playing PG in an NBA system against bigger/better players where there's also more games and more potential playing time available is something that would likely be very advantageous to him someday making the NBA. I mean, I wonder how many people thought Rayjon was a NBA player after his sophomore year? I wonder how many had Kendrick Nunn pegged as a NBA player, let alone full time starter on a playoff team as a rookie after his sophomore year at Illinois? They worked their way up from the G League... why can't Mac do the same? That said, maybe he never makes the NBA. So what? That's fine too. Apparently that will somehow complete yours and other haters lives in someway. Guess you will sleep better at night 20 years from now knowing that Mac never made the NBA. Have fun. Also, hate to belabor this response, but Mac isn’t bigger than Steph Curry, nor is he more athletic. Steph has a good three inches on him. Mac is more vertically athletic, but there’s no contest on the ground. Steph is faster and much more mobile laterally. Steph is also a point guard while Mac is a 6-1 shooting guard. Two different lanes. Again, hate to keep answering the same post, but that comparison was eye opening and it needed answering Daytona - How have u been buddy?

I don’t know why I watched the replay of the 08 Davidson game. That game freaking took my soul. We had so much talent on that team coming off a final four appearance. We all remember we lost Green to NBA but we had Austin, Chris, PE JR along with Sapp, summers, and hibbert. We had so much talent. This game ruined my Easter, I just remember throwing chit at the TV. Watching this game also rekindled my dislike of macklin. I think this ranks pretty high on games that’s ripped my heart out. The Ohio U game is the one that I can't get over....UMASS was good, Davidson had Steph plus I don't think that team was going much farther than the Sweet 16 and Otto's team was thin. But 2010 still hurts because that team had all the pieces.... That game was rough. I recall we were being targeted as a possible first round upset by many of the analysts.

Could have beat Florida in 2006 to get to Elite Eight. Brewer hit miraculous shot sitting down on court. Your right. That was a heart breaker. We had a very good team too. I think we had bowman/cook/Owens maybe? Along with sapp/green/hibbert/Wallace. No summers if I recall. That Florida team was very talented. I believe they beat a loaded nova team after us. Certainly a heartbreaker.

The hoyas vs UNLV game ripped my heart out too. 1990?1991? We could have won that game against a generational team.

Walking around barefoot in loafers is no cure. Ha. Very true. I had PF as well. I had to pop anti inflammatories, get Inserts and not run or jump for 3 weeks. Of course he is a world class athlete and I was just a regular athlete in my 30’s. We really need at least one of our guys back. This is one crazy season.

Great atmosphere at garden in second half. I can’t believe we won. Great defense but we held our composure and came back. Well done. Good to see a W inperson

Late arriving crowd. 70% full. Most of the lower bowl is full. Not bad considering. Always fun visiting MSG. Got very good seats for pretty cheap. Thanks. Almost came up for the game but have bern going to same SB Party for 40 years. Couldn't justify missing it! I know. I’m going to take a quick train home to watch the super bowl. Wife got us tickets but didn’t know it was super bowl Sunday. It’s a tradition we come to this game every year. We live in CT and are huge hoya fans.
