Lifelong Gtown fan here. I am amazed that you guys have not been able to read the tea leaves on Green's decision. The decision is made and has been made for sometime already. Green will be back for his senior campaign. How do I know you might wonder? Well one thing I know is that are scheduling for next year is looking to be a lot more ambitious then it has been in down years. The fact that we are going to be going to Memphis tells me that JT3 is very confident in his team next year. Confident that Jeff will be back too. Playing at Memphis with the team they have coming back and with the recruits they have coming in would make no sense unless he knew we would be loaded next year. Without Jeff we could get destroyed in that game. With Jeff you have a potential 1 vs 2 game on National TV. What would say to recruits and the national media that we are fully back then that stage? Also is discussions with Tennessee too at Rocky Top another potential top 5 team? Be serious kids. He will be back.
Remember his daddy never (for the most part) scheduled big games unless he KNEW his teams were loaded.

Huh? This is a likely preseason top 10 even without JG. Your scheduling theory just doesn't work.

I think without Jeff and as long as III is coaching we still have a chance (key word is chance, Im not saying we will win every game) to win every game we play and especially against a squad who plays no one like Memphis.

I'll go ahead and disagree with the notion that Memphis would destroy Georgetown without Jeff Green. I'm sure we all hope you're right on the rest of your thoughts, however. Speaking of which, can we all goad casualhoya a little more. I'm thinking we can make a vein pop or something. "Hey, has a decision been announced yet?" Why hasn't a decision been announced yet? casualhoya, do you know why a decision hasn't been announced yet? Why don't you know? When is the decision going to be announced? Is a decision going to be announced? What do you think, casualhoya?"

Yessir.
we scheduled 4 years worth of Memphis-Gtown games because Jeff Green might come back for one year. That's it!

Hold up. This team is going to be great next season too, with or without Jeff. To suggest Jeff is the only or main reason the team was very good last season is an insult to the other players and the coaching staff.
Sure at first I too thought there may have been something to the scheduling of the Memphis game. But then I gave it more thought. III has always been ambitious in his scheduling. His first season, after inheriting a team that didn't make the NIT the previous season, he signed up a game at the last minute against Illinois which was a consensus top 3 team going into the 2004-2005 season. He immediately scheduled Duke again too for 2005-2006 knowing that Duke was a likley preseason #1. Those 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 Gtown teams are not as good as the 2007-2008 Hoyas are going to be. It makes perfect sense for III to schedule this game. After all the Hoyas did need at least one great non-conference team to boost its RPI.
Now....if Kansas and UNC have been scheduled as well then you may be on to something.

I guess my theory went to hell anyway. We are UNLV 90, Duke 92 loaded if Jeff stayed. Now we are a top 10 team without him. Good luck Jeffy boy! If it was me I would have signed with a agent the day after the Ohio Taint game. Must have been a tough decision for him.

Damn, I thought this was a thread about StPete's exploits with GU freshmen girls. Our scheduling should be tougher, we're major now. Big-timers, ballers, as it might be. It's about time we started playing against the big boys. I can only hope we schedule Duke for the rest of existence, just to repeatedly dance in front of those idiotic Cameron Crazies as we stuff tomahawk dunks on their faces.

Destroyed by Memphis? No faith in your team without Jeff. There were a few games last year where Jeff might as well not even suited up, did we get destroyed? Plus, ole Joey boy couldn't even handle Greg OLDen....what makes u think he can handle big roy

Its weird, we have never seen the Princeton Offense work without Jeff. Actually, we never saw a JTIII era Gtown game without Jeff. Next year should be pretty interesting...
