Ok, this could be clutter but i couldn't find it. For every Claire Cooper in the world, there's another like this girl. cstv.collegesports.com/postup/play.php?vid=45Btw, if i ever have a daughter i hope she's like Claire Cooper.

I appreciate and respect the sentiment of these 2 faithful Hoya fans, but doesn't this video imply that we need our opponents to "choke" in order for us to advance? **
** Please note that this should not be construed as an attempt to resurrect the argument over whether or not Carolina choked.

Grampa, it does seem to take away from our team's accomplishment. We took the game from UNC. We executed and they didn't. I guess it's kinda like the overrated chant. Still, i appreciate the ladies enthusiasm.

While I liked the video, I've seen a bit too much of our final four opponent being referred to as Ohio. Since we're not going up against the feared Bobcats of the MAC, they really should say Ohio St. (perhaps I'm just nit picking as a former resident of the Buckeye state).
As for who Claire Cooper is, she's over there on the left, and I like to think that she is somehow related to disgraced former Buckeye football coach John Cooper.

Well, the Bucks refer to themselves as "Ohio" in both "Across the Field" and "Buckeye Battle Cry," and the school has such a complex about the "State" following its name that it added a "the" in front of it. Before the Texas-Ohio State football game in Columbus two years ago, the posters read "Texas vs. Ohio." If there's a reason to not refer to tOSU as "Ohio," it's because the Buckeyes like to do so themselves.

I guess I feel like when people say Ohio they are talking about the entire state (of which I am a part), and OSU or tOSU refers to the crappy University on the banks of the Olentangy. Trust me, its mostly the Columbus crowd (and alums scattered throughout the state) that give two sh*ts about the buckeyes. Although they won't be there, I hope their band looks like this on Saturday:

No, becuase they clearly say that it was Georgetown that caused Carolina to choke. It's like somebody else here who said that Carolina did choke - insofar as choking being the natural result of somebody else putting their hands around their necks and squeezing.

In the song they are talking about the state not the university. No one calls Ohio State, "Ohio". If you say Ohio University in Ohio everyone would know you meant the Bobcats and not the Buckeyes. The references people use are OSU, Ohio State, Buckeyes, and Bucks. Only people on message boards type tOSU which I think is to differentiate between the other OSUs. In every day conversation no would say TOSU, they would say OSU.
In regards to the other poster from Ohio, I'm not sure where you live maybe Toledo or something but from just about every place I've been people love Ohio State in Ohio. In the far North and South you will find some haters, but everyone in central Ohio loves the Bucks in my experience.

It's your school, so I won't argue with you, but I will post the words to both songs and let everyone else decide for themselves what "Ohio" refers to. I will also note that Michigan State's fight song doesn't refer to "Michigan," Penn State's fight song doesn't refer to "Pennsylvania," Florida State's fight song doesn't refer to "Florida," Kansas State's fight song doesn't refer to "Kansas," Iowa State's fight song doesn't refer to "Iowa," Oklahoma State's fight song doesn't refer to "Oklahoma," Colorado State's fight song doesn't refer to "Colorado," Oregon State's fight song doesn't refer to "Oregon," Arizona State's fight song doesn't refer to "Arizona," Washington State's fight song doesn't refer to "Washington," and Mississippi State's fight song doesn't refer to "Mississippi." In fact, no other ______ State school names its state in its fight song unless it is immediately followed by the word "State." EDIT: Good point, bubbrubb. Here's a link instead: www.1122productions.com/fightsongs/o.htmlEDIT: BTW, why is it "Script Ohio" and not "Script OSU?"

"Across the Field" Fight the team across the field Show them Ohio's here, Set the earth reverberating With a mighty cheer, Rah! Rah! Rah! Hit them hard and see how they fall, Never let that team get the ball, Hail, hail, the gang's all here, So let's win that old conference now. "Buckeye Battle Cry" In old Ohio there's a team That's known throughout the land Eleven warriors brave and bold, Whose fame will ever stand. And when the ball goes over, Our cheers will reach the sky, Ohio Field will hear again The Buckeye Battle Cry! Drive, Drive on down the field, Men of the scarlet and gray; Don't let them through that line, We've got to win this game today, COME ON OHIO! Smash through to victory, We cheer you as we go! Our honor defend we will fight to the end for OHIO! OK, I don't care if it means not responding to brutus' post, but GET THIS CRAP OFF OUR BOARD!!!
