JTIII deserves props for calling TOs when he saw his team was gassed. Great job knowing his team. He outcoached Roy, goshdarnit!

A perspective: For those of you who weren't 11 years old in 1982, glued to your TV sets, thinking that the ball was coming to Sleepy and the game was in hand. For those of you who weren't sobbing for hours in disbelief when reality finally hit. For those of you who didn't have to walk into your sixth grade classroom to atone for all of your boasts about the mightiest of all Hoya teams. For all of you, this is the sweetest of all victories since. March on, oh mighty Hoyas! I would definitely be included in that group...

Roy Williams was 110% class in the post-game -- a great program with a great coach. A regular home-and-home series would be fun.

SO much class on this team. SO much heart. THIS is the basketball team I've always dreamed of supporting. Thank you JTIII, staff, Jeff, Roy, Jon, DaJuan, Jessie, Pat Jr., Jeremiah, Vernon, and all the guys who didn't get in today for this. You have made us so proud.
I'm watching Comcast's hour-long show about our team. One of the coolest aspects of this is all the proud dads: JTII, Big Pat, Papa Doc, and Jeff Sr. (didn't know about that one!). This team is just like this university: all about family. I love it.
THANK YOU HOYAS!!! WE BELIEVE!!!

Showed Dwayne Bryant et al. with postgame comments. They managed to get tickets somehow, and, heck, Dwayne is still a head coach.

Years from now, the final score--as the result of the blowout in overtime--will make people forget just how close the game really was. But the come-from-behind drive to get into overtime might make us forget now just how much better Georgetown played than North Carolina did. I can't find the 1st half/2nd half/OT breakdowns yet, but for the game as a whole, Georgetown shot a sparkling 63% eFG%, while NC was at 36%.
Two things built and maintained NC's lead: their jaw-dropping 34 freethrow attempts (made at a fantastic 85.3%) and their 20 offensive rebounds (10 more than the Hoyas managed).
But Georgetown, shooting 1.75 times better than NC, was too much, and under enormous pressure, the Hoyas brought it home.
Utterly fantastic game. Hoya Saxa, baby--Hoya Saxa.

after all of our worry (mine included) at the beginning of the year about us being able to shoot the three its amazing that to get to the final four we shot 58% from 3pt the whole game! amazing that in a game that would be called fair we would have blown them out

From Camille's game story : "...and Patrick Ewing Jr. grabbed an air ball from Green and laid it into the basket."
Did anyone else think that was a lob assist, and not a shot?

The team made us proud. I was at the Continental Arena. They crowd was going crazy. It was a great win - one of the all time best for Georgetown. This team has heart. I think the OSU matchup is a better one for us than the UNC matchup. Bring 'em on baby!

According to Camille, the entire all-region team frontcourt was Hoyas in Jeff, Roy, and Dajuan.

Anyone else notice that Hansborough looked broken at the UNC press conference? He looked like a deer in the headlights. I think Brendan Wright actually had to answer a question for him. We broke Pitt...and now we broke Hansborough. Some NBA team is going to be mad at us if we beat Ohio St., b/c I beat we break Oden too if we win.

From someone who was there in the SuperDome in'82, I say, LET'S GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me too -- good times. Some observations -- -- Packer had a great call at the end that should be on the next generation of Hoya t-shirts: "ROCK SOLID!" -- His favorite son status notwithstanding, I think it will take a while for Roy Williams to live this one down in Chapel Hill. It's fair to ask how a team with that roster could shoot two for infinity down the stretch, then go into rigor mortis in overtime. -- The game showed how important it is that Sapp, Summers and Ewing play well -- can't win the whole deal without them. -- For once and for freakin' all, can we please stop with "Fred Brown lost the game for us in '82." Brown's pass didn't lose the game -- it was the last play of a game we lost. The real reason, if you're looking for one, was the team's failure to open up leads when they had several opportunities to do so.

For all Hoya fans and especially the ones from the days of waiting for Khalid El-Amin to make his college choice on much slower computers, from MoneyTrain AKA DollarBills, from Esh, from RHEDA FREAKING RHALIMI, WE ARE BACK and a SINCERE THANK YOU FROM A GUY that inexplicably came across a banana in the restaurant I manage (of course I ate it) and then when down at halftime I left to go to the hotel where we came back vs. BC and drank the same thing and sat in the same seat. THANK YOU TO ALL THE PLAYERS AND COACHES. Let's go GU!!!
