Thorton and Egerson with ZERO minutes today according the cbssportsline Gametracker...I wonder if Coach is trying to send a message... Yeah - pretty weak that they've been off the team for months and still show on the CBS site. Also, about 5-10 mins after the game they showed DNP for Sead and a few other guys that according to the game log and posts in here actually played. Their sports site tech is from the 90's. I used the cstv gametracker which is friggin brilliant

Was it just me or did Macklin look pretty smooth from the line today? It was like night and day compared to his free throw attempts earlier this season. I think he was 4-5 FT, and his shot actually looked great. Even the one he missed had good form; it just rattled in and out. Just another sign III and the staff know how to teach and develop every aspect of each player's game.

Phase one in making The Vern become the unstoppable low post monster that will succeed Roy is complete. If he has anywhere near Roy's growth curve working with this staff Macklin will be a beast.

good win. i was very happy to see the team take only a couple 3's the second half and get better looks from 2. i thought we were settling for the 3 too much the first half (14 3 pt attempts) even though we were shooting a very good percentage. jesse played great, although he still has to be more careful with the ball. good contributions from vernon, tyler, and especially jeremiah with the assists. even though we won big, it still looked like the team was going through the motions. i expect (and hope) a fired up bunch of hoyas saturday.

I was fortunate enough to be at the game, and I was impressed. Belmont played us hard for forty minutes, and we responded. Great game for Jessie and the entire bench.
Hopefully this game can serve as a wake-up call for Jeff and Roy to avoid early fouls.
"Where is Belmont?" was a great cheer. Also, the boos that came down when the image of Christian Laetner was shown were priceless.

The band was playing the Eastern Motors song... glad to hear it got some TV time.
Playing in basically an arena that was a sea of UNC fans was something that compared to playing surrounded by Ohio State fans in Dayton last year - really glad that we won't have a potential match-up with UNC IN Carolina - that would be a rough atmosphere.
One of my favorite things in the game was Macklin's face after nailing his 4th free throw (of 5 attempts) - priceless. =)

Sometimes it is just tough luck with the way the ball bounces, but sometimes you just have to be smart enough to let the opponent win that one, and get back and play defense. One of Green's fouls in the first half was totally unnecessary and even though it was sort of a touch foul, there was no reason to try from that position.

This just in from the Hoya Hoop Club (who is the proofreader - lic?): Sapp's Career-High 20 Points Leads No. 2 Georgetown Past Belmont, 80-55 March 11, 2007 Winston-Salem, N.C. - Sophomore guard Jessie Sapp (New York, N.Y./National Christian Academy) scored a career-high 20 points to lead three players in double figures and No. 2 seed Georgetown used an 11-0 run midway through the first half to pull away from No. 15 seed Belmont en route to an 80-55 win in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum Thursday afternoon. I really respected how the Hoyas didn't give up, even when they were up a million. Hustling all the time, no matter what the score is, will really help GTOWN in the long run.
