I said this already in the Pitt game recap thread, but it bears mentioning again: my old roommate, whose first game back at Verizon/MCI since graduation was this past Saturday, remarked to me that "this is how a student section should be."
Obviously, JTIII/his staff/the players have a lot to do with its resurgence, but it definitely would not have been possible without you seniors. The work you guys have put in the past couple of years and the dedication you all put forth towards not only attending men's basketball games but all GU athletic events is nothing short of extraordinary.
And on a personal note: in the span of four years you guys went from the loud kids I saw in the first row at games with facepaint/wigs/funky glasses/etc. to the leaders of the most influential and popular student group on campus to fellow Hoyas I'm proud to call friends. It sure doesn't seem like enough, but I just wanted to say thanks to all of you.

Congrats, Folks! I honestly think that school spirit is higher on Georgetown's campus than it has ever been. Except possibly 1893. That was a good year. What exactly were people so excited about in 1893? Was it: - The Grover Cleveland inauguration? - Overthrow of the government of Queen Liliuokalani in Hawaii? - First recorded college basketball game? - Ghandi's first act of civil disobedience? - Rutheford B. Hayes' death? Ok, some of those are likely made up since this was the source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1893

People were celebrating Rutherford B. Hayes' death. After all, he was a great historical monster.

*Stands and applauds*
Thanks to all the Hoya Blue seniors, not only for playing a big role in reviving school spirit at Georgetown, but for reaching out and letting lots of people get involved in the Hoya Blue experience. It's been a blast working with you, and hopefully we can keep the torch burning bright in the future. You guys have left us with something great. THANKS!

People were celebrating Rutherford B. Hayes' death. After all, he was a great historical monster. Oh Gott -- SF, I'm frankly disappointed. Clearly it was the Ghandi. As you know,he was a Christian and a Hindu and a Muslimi and a Jew, and so are all of you... and the HB people think they have inside jokes on this board.

007 and CA deserve to be recognized at center court tomorrow for their tireless work on behalf of the program and student fandom.

Thank you all! It's really been a pleasure working with Hoya Blue the past two years, and being a Georgetown student and fan for the past four. I'm gonna miss it a lot when I leave. It's been a lot of hard work, but it's all been worth it. So many times I think of where we were as a program during my freshman year, just three years ago, in comparison to where we are now. It's like night and day. It's really nothing short of a miracle. Also, thank you to JT III, the staff, and all the current players, it's been remarkable to see the transformation of the program during my four years here. Really makes me appreciate where we are now, by seeing first hand where we were pre-JT III. And thanks to 007, without whom I definitely wouldn't be where I am right now, the rest of the Hoya Blue seniors, and hell, the rest of the organization... it's really been a thrilling ride, and while tomorrow is our last home game, it's not even CLOSE to being over! Beat the Huskies tomorrow! Thanks to all the senior students and especially to my surrogate, CA. ;D He has represented me faithfully these past few years, and I expect him to be making a lot of noise in the Final Four this year. My only sadness is that I will have to audition another surrogate for next year.
