we could be undefeated, and Feinstein would still have us unranked. the prick. <------

Sure it doesn't guarantee NCAA seeding, and sure the voters are stupid, but everybody -- from the crazies like us to the alum that happens to catch the score on sportscenter to the recruit that thinks he'll be playing there someday to the lacrosstitute that decides to attend her first game this Saturday -- gets more excited when we're ranked. I very much like the inclusion of the lacrosstitute reference. Well done.

What's the internet?
You sound like a single person, MB. Just you wait...

You sound like a single person, MB. Just you wait... Actually happily married for 2 years now. Don't worry, I've been in those situations too, like this weekend for instance when my attendance is required at a niece's bday party at 10am PST on Saturday. My wife has informed me that perhaps my sister in law will let me Tivo the game. I've tried reasoning that since the niece is only turning 3, and Georgetown basketball is turning 100, the latter is more important. Alas, that argument hasn't worked out too well so far.

MB, just for Saturday, claim to have converted to Jehovah's Witness-dom and say you can't celebrate birthdays. Then, watch basketball (I don't think there is any prohibition on that). ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

If I had bothered to review your identifying information, MB, I would have noted that you are a neighbor (at least compared to most others on this board), and that MB stands for Manhattan Beach. Very nice.
Looks like you'll be recording the game in some fashion, so the question then becomes do you want to treat the game as "live" when you watch it? I used to do that all the time, but no longer have the will power when access to coverage is so easy.

one other thing on Feinstein: he was the one person to give Old Dominion a vote. So I suppose he helped us indirectly, no matter how hard he tried not to.

So where do we end up in the next AP pool. I know, I know, it doesn't matter. Still fun though.
I don't see anybody jumping over us. I see us jumping over SIU, USC, Alabama, OK State, Duke, Air Force, Oregon, and Marquette. Kentucky too if they lose badly to Florida, no way if htey win.
So that would be a big leap to #13 this week. Sounds crazy for a one week jump, but how do you rank one of those teams ahead of us?

we won't jump over Marquette. i firmly we believe we are better than they are and now proved it, and Pitino is probably indeed correct that we are one of the ten best in the country, but we'll nevertheless be ranked at something like 16 this week. I'd guess MU falls a couple of spots, to something like 14. we'll be close to them, but behind them.
the real question is whether Feinstein gives us any votes.
