Best sign in the crowd: "Dickie V: If you love the ACC so much, why don't you marry it?"

Yeah, the D looks a little weak, but Pitt was pretty unconscious for a while there. They are a pretty good team and they played a pretty amazing latter half of the first half.
Damn turnovers. The Hoyas need to cut back the TOs and reduce the forced jumpers with no time on the clock.
The game seems much closer than 9 points...

they're guards are just better than ours and Gray is better than Roy right now Doesn't hurt that Pitt is shooting at a Villanova '85 clip. I'd like to see some full-court pressure in the second half and more effort out of Jeff Green. We're playing well and are right in this game. As for Gray being better than Roy, both look good when they have the ball. Neither seems to have a good idea of how to play D against another 7 footer. Roy is 3-4 from the field, and on the shot he missed he beat Gray but missed the finish. Gray is 4-5. Good effort from the bench so far tonight. And I don't have the stats, but it seems we're doing okay in the turnover column as well. LET'S GO HOYAS in the second half.

Good half--nothing you can do when people are hitting shots and are a better team--and right now Pitt is a better basketball team then Hoyas. Liked the aggressiveness and hustle, but they are a bit stronger in areas then GU, and just need to hope they start missing some of those shots from outside. Everyone is talking about the matchup of bigs--but these two kids are very mediocre when talking of total game-they are skilled, have some nice offensive moves, and are absolutely NONE FACTORS on defensive end of court. It's due to their slow feet and neither Roy or Gray possess good reactions, but both have worked their butts off to get better, so I commend them for that. However, it's an interesting state in CBB, when this "matchup" is talked up as being important. It's not. Everyone looks at offensive end of game, but Hibbert scares nobody when they drive to hole and Gray had ball ripped out of his hands and put up in his face by a guard--that isn't elite basketball no matter how you slice it. As for the Hoyas--I love the movement of offense tonight--good motion and guys really cutting hard and moving without the ball. That's all I've asked for--more tempo and getting into the offensive sets much earlier as well. Just have to get some stops and hit a couple of open jumpers to loosen up the defense. Only tenative thing I've seen is from Jeff and Roy on their moves to hole against Gray--take it up on him--he's not going to block your shot--just go at him and quit trying to use a reverse move--it's two points no matter how it goes in guys! I'll live with another half of effort and execution that I saw in First Half-although a few more stops and better defense would be nice--you have to credit Pitt for playing some great ball and they are a fine team.

I agree with RDF. Hibbert and Gray are non factors on the defensive end.
Other thoughts: I don't like our zone D, their guards are eating it up. Go to an agressive man.
Summers needs to show up, stop talking trash and give us another offensive presence.
We're executing well and hustling, we just need to weather the Pitt shooting barage and try and make a run. Green stopped taking it to the rack at the end of the 1st half....why....Kendall cannot guard you.

I feel like we lost as soon as the ball was thrown in the air for the opening tip...maybe it was all the pro-Pitt ESPN gameday hoopla--either way--down 15 with 17:00 to play, this is about to get really ugly...
unlike other teams, we don't have the capacity (will?) to actually come back in games that we find ourselves in a deficit

Down 9 at the half - though I think we have a decent chance at coming back. On offense, Roy is starting with the ball too far out - when he's out at 3 point land it does almost nothing for us - he needs to start at the elbow so he can either drive, easily pass to a cutter, or knock down the equivalent of a free throw if they stay off him. He can't even get a good pass off playing beyond the 3. Also our defense is giving them wide open looks. If you play zone, you gotta have your hands way up in the air the whole time and move. Still - our offense is good today and I think we have a shot to come back. Coming back 9 points against Pitt is tough, but maybe they'll start missing shots.

the success and failure of this team lies in our ability to make the deep range shot.

Not a fan of the sub patterns by coach. We're down 7 w/ 7 mins to go and Hibbert is not on the floor??? And rivers should not be in there at all.

out guards cannot stay with them off the dribble, which is why we've had to zone

Ewing Jr. has been fantastic. Sapp has been pretty good. Thats about it. I also smell some serious homecooking but I'm not gonna blame the game on that.

Big swing there when Jeff got hacked on the arm with no call then Pitt got the offensive rebound when Grey went over the back...but the game shouldn't have come to that
